I was just pondering what other people see as the best music out of all video games, whether it be a single video game or a series.

I loved the atmospheric ambient music out of Mirror's Edge. So much so that I bought the soundtrack, and eventually all the other albums by the composer (Solar Fields).

The ones that come to mind right now are from Mafia 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, ArmA2:Eagle Wing,Gothic 1,2 and 3, Vampire Bloodlines:The Masquerade, Portal 2..

Black Moon CHronicles (old game with amazing soundtrack)

This board would support karma points, i would have given a dozen of them at once for mentionning Pierre Esteve fabulous pieces of work on Black Moon Chronicles.
The whole soundtrack album is full of great pieces like this, it has always been my favorite "game" soundtrack album, really high quality work. I remember i even went to buy the soundtrack CD directly just after discovering the "trailer" on a magazine cd at the time that featured some of those musics.

As much as it pains me to say it, the Hans Zimmer OSTs are usually worth a listen.
The Mass Effect OSTs are worthy of Mordor too.
