Thread: "Take On" Franchise

  1. #21
Some of my ideas (I love coming up with game names that will never see the light of day!):-

Take On Trucking (semi business sim/driving sim)
Take On Destruction (rebuild a city, planning how to detonate buildings without damaging ones you need to keep)
Take On Olympics (sorry, I'm British!)
Take On Miner (run a mining company, underground/overground etc)
Take On Emergency (fire fighting tactics/emergency response vehicle; crazy but controlled driving)

    Sounds very familiar....

They should do Take On: Take Ons, where you take the roll of the brother of a game developer who has recently been incapacitated in a freak developing accident, and must help steer the company to expand a niche PC market, and break in to new markets with new titles, updated classics, on a base of tried and true properties.

Actually, as a small side project, I am working on exactly that (in Arma 2).
Aiming at a small sized economy sim that also allows competition via MP. But it's all in it's baby shoes right now. Once it's decent and presentable, I might get around announcing it with more details.

The main point for me doing this is to give people a reason to drive over all the nice terrains made by BI and the community, focusing on enjoying the scenery while cursing at the non-present brakes (just a somewhat controlled deceleration).

Once the reviews were in, that game would never sell a single copy.

    Take On: Walker.

No matter how you play the game you will always lose.

    (That's a complement by the way! )
