This thread is for posting information, or media about upcoming projects, to help get the word out. You can use this thread for 'pimpin' your addons, mods, models, scripts, or what have you. Users can use this thread as a catalogue to keep track of planned community releases, and to look at or post promos or other media.

Thread Rules

No Discussion - In order to keep the signal to noise ratio high, this thread is for posting content only. Please do not use it for comments, opinions, or other spam. That said, I'm sure the content posters would love to hear your feedback in the form of a PM or other message.

For Addons Without Their Own Thread - If your addon or mod has a thread for it already, please post your promo in that thread.

Post Only Your Own Work - Posting the content of others without permission can result in a ban. If the work is a result of multiple people, please give appropriate credit to all participants.

Obey the Rules for Content Posting - Currently, the maximum image size is 100 kb. The Forum does resize them, however, it does not automatically put them below the kilobyte limit. The forum rules for posting content are listed below.

§6) No posting of explicit images

No posting of pictures containing porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit images. This also includes links to pages that contain such images. If you are in doubt, contact a moderator via private message before posting. You won't be banned for checking out if a link is ok to post if it's a genuine request.

§15) Do not hotlink images over 100kb (102400 bytes) in size

Do not link images over 100kb using the IMG tags to display an image in your post. If you wish to post an image larger then 100 kb feel free to post the URL instead of hotlinking.

§19) Videos/Movies

No Video/movies, either posted or linked to shall contain any of the following.

Porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit footage. If something offensive is being shown in cartoon form it shall be treated as if the imagery were real and not simply cartoon. This also includes team killing or anything glorifying deliberate and or anti-social behaviour on any Public or Private server.

§20) Posting addon/mod other content without permission

For many years this community has been known as the premium addon/mod creating community, people work tirelessly and in great detail to create fantastic addons/mods/missions/campaigns to release for free so that everyone benefits, including Bohemia Interactive. There are a few simple rules in place to provide the respect to these creative people/groups that they deserve:

The first and most fundamental rule is that you must seek permission to alter someone's work, to mirror it or use it in any way other than for personal use. No permission, no editing, no mirroring, no adding to your mod pack, no editing and sharing around your private squad, none of that is acceptable.

Obviously we cannot unfortunately control what people do outside of these forums, however on these forums you must follow this rule, if a person/team post a thread to share an addon/mod using content from someone else without permission and we receive a complaint then the mod thread will be closed until the issue is resolved and the forum member(s) risks being permanently banned from these forums for taking someone's work without permission.

This isn't just limited to re-using content in addons/mods/missions however, it's not acceptable to edit someone's work without permission and then to post screenshots of it on the forums (even if the edited addon/mod is purely for personal use), it's also not acceptable to edit someone's work, or use someone's work in any way that you don't have permission for and then to create videos which you post on these forums, doing any of the above without the permission of the original creators risks a permanent ban, for individuals, for whole mod teams or squads.

Some early preview shots of the second base model (with a VAC) for an Australian SOTG project being worked on by ardvarkdb (Modelling) and myself (Texturing).

The other base model (with a FAPC) is further along, near completed actually and ingame.

However there is still a way to go with both model and texture work for the project.

But just to let people know there is something going on I thought I'd post up some o2 shots, I might post up some pics of the new helmet's, helmet accessories, nvg's and all that soonish that Ardy has been churning out (super small preview in my avatar hah), but for now here you go;

Just a little 5x5km terrain I've been working on rather quietly (since I had originally not intended to make any more maps, this will be the last one for ArmA2/OA though, might return for ArmA 3, but I doubt it).

The beautiful Hurricane-aircraft is from the Invasion 1944-mod and is not my work. some of buildings are also from Invasion 1944, and some of the vegetation is Mikebart's.

I have a couple of mods in development (slow, apart from a manic last 6 months RL, I'm a crap scripter :blush:) intended to make life easier for human leaders of AI teams:

ORC_Gear - hope to release beta in 1-2 weeks. Cursor-select a target (corpse, crate, vehicle), F-select a unit, "get ammo" - unit moves to source, plays a "takeMagazine" anim, script transfers primary mags to unit & depletes them from the source. No silly dances, messing in Gear menu - especially with opening wrong or no source; buggy "Rearm at"; horridly cluttered menu 6; etc. Later to add "take missile" for AT/AA units. Later still, enable non AT/AA unit to grab missile & launcher from a corpse. With vehicles/crates should be able to send multiple units at once rather than the typical one-at-a-time using the stock"rearm at" (even when that works properly...). Not intended to replace "Gear" or asr_ai rearming. more an adjunct to accelerate players re-ammoing their AI units.

ORC_LAM: working for player, you can throw a primary mag to a nearby unit who has run out of ammo. Need to get script working to order another unit to Lob-a-Mag to a second AI unit, broken ATM. Not sure if it's LOS issues, inherent problems with AI &/or weapon configs, or general rubbish scripting problems (it's quite fun finding out, though)

No videos yet - apart from issues of recording them I'm on mobile BB only so don't want to use precious bandwidth (or lose face :) ) showing how buggy LAM is as yet.

Neither tested in MP. I don't play MP & have even fewer clues about how to script for than than for SP. ORC_LAM might be useful for MP though, so when I release a beta I'll ask for collaborators, if anyone is interested.
