ETPC 1 Posted February 14, 2012 Hey all. Well, to be blunt, I suck at ARMA games. I love them, I really do, but I suck at them. I needed to cheat in ARMA, ARMA2 and ARMA2 OA's single player campaigns, but I still had a blast (well, except for the missions where you command armies :P) CWA/OFP, however, is impenetrable to me. Everyone says it's the best campaign BIS has done and I can see why but it's impossible for me. So, my question is, are there any 'cheat mods' like Loki's Lost Keys for OFP/CWA? Because otherwise I cannot enjoy the single player campaign(s). I WANT TO STRESS THIS IS NOT FOR MULTIPLAYER AT ALL. AT. ALL. THIS IS FOR SINGLE PLAYER. JdB 151 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Welcome. No, there are no actual "cheat mods". There are some cheat codes, but that's it. Christmas TimeChange the set date to December 25th and all pine trees will be decorated and have presents under them. Cheats Hold LEFT SHIFT and KEYPAD MINUS simultaneously on the main menu or during gameplay, release them, and enter these cheats: campaign - All missions unlocked topography - Show map elevations Hold LEFT SHIFT and KEYPAD MINUS while playing, release, and enter these cheats: savegame - Creates saved state endmission - Ends current mission Edited February 14, 2012 by JdB
ETPC 1 Posted February 14, 2012 Oh. Well, that sucks. I guess I can cross this one off the list, sadly :(
JdB 151 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Oh. Well, that sucks. I guess I can cross this one off the list, sadly :( If a mission really is too hard for you, you should use the "campaign" cheat and just start the next mission and play from there. Really I should be telling you to take the time to learn how to play the game properly and get better at it, but the learning curve isn't to everyone's liking. I hope you keep trying, the reward in getting better at playing the game is worth it in my opinion. CWA is not player-centric like most other games, trying to take on the enemy all on your own won't work, and keeping yourself as low as possible helps a lot. If you can't complete a mission, try to think why you're failing, and try a different approach. What mission(s) are you have difficulty with? ETPC 1 Posted February 14, 2012 Strange Meeting is the one that is giving me the most guff. I'm terrified of what comes next because I'm already dying in cutscenes :(
JdB 151 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Strange Meeting is the one that is giving me the most guff. I'm terrified of what comes next because I'm already dying in cutscenes :( Dying in cutscenes? I've never had that happen to me before in more than 10 years of playing. Sounds more like there is a problem with your game ... What part of Strange Meeting are you having problems with? ETPC 1 Posted February 14, 2012 There is a bit where the truck breaks down (?) and I have to get into a jeep. However, as we are driving we just got shot to crap. Sometimes I get out and a tank spawns in front of me and aniliates me.
JdB 151 Posted February 14, 2012 Try to drive tactically, don't restrict yourself to the roads. If there is a hill, valley or group of houses that you can use to mask your movement, use it. The mission might fail if you stray too far from the area, but use everything that you can take cover behind to get out of the area, or dismount and engage the threat if there is no other way out. Also when you've played the mission a few times, and know where the shooting will start, try to be behind an object when the shooting starts. Like in After Montignac or Strange Meeting, your vehicle will be attacked just when you are going to drive through a village, drive the jeep towards the first house on the left and it will trigger the attack. You'll have a few seconds to react that way rather than being shot to pieces right away. Usually the best method is to drive away fast, as the enemy is too strong. Macser_old 0 Posted February 14, 2012 Hello, ETPC,you didn't mention the dirt road. Are you taking the road to the right when you're ordered to?I think if you ignore it and continue on,you'll be blasted before you get near Morton. If you take the dirt road, you'll be heading up a small incline to an old farmhouse, with a heavy forest to your left. After a few seconds you'll hear your convoy coming under fire. When you get the opportunity, take this road.If only to provide an alternative approach. I won't say anymore,as I don't want to spoil it. :)
