editing config.bin file problem

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I have been trying to modify the config.bin file in the JC chechen war russians addon to remove the vilas weapons and replace them with ace ones since I want to run them in ace. I depbo'd the file, opened the config.bin in notepad and found this:

Then all I did was use the notepad replace function to replace the vilas classnames with the ace ones. then I repbo'd the file and tried to run it, but the units don't appear in the editor. I have tried to do the same thing with relli cra and the cdf conscript addons and they did the same thing. Am I doing something obviously wrong or can this not be done or what?

use eliteness to "derapify" a bin to cpp

a cpp will have a readable structure

You can also use unRap from Kegety´s ArmA Tools. Put the .exe just somewhere on your System, and link the .bin Files with unRap via "open with" from the Context Menu.

After that, you have only to doubleclick the .bin File, and the .cpp File will be generated in the same Place as the .bin :)
