FXAASharp=0; disabled (0) by default, quality levels range from 1 to 6, where 6 means most sharpen filter

Wow! That sharp filter is pretty amazing! Doesn't seem to hit performance either (completely unscientific comment based on ten minutes looking at the screen in awe!!).

Not sure how the effect is scaled, but I don't really see much of a difference between 1 or 6. I assume it's gradually sharper, but it seems extremely sharp already from FXAASharp=1;. I might be seeing wrong (though I did take pictures to compare), unoptimized combination of settings or there's something wrong with my GFX card. More investigation needed, I guess. :p

FXAA 0 (disabled)

FXAA 1

FXAA 3

FXAA 6

Just to weed out any false mental interpretations based on the numbering, I've arranged the numbering wrong. FXAA 1 is actually setting 3, FXAA 3 is 6, FXAA 6 is 1. Hope it worked :D

So, is there much visual difference?

With FSAA=2, FXAA=2, and FXAASharp=2 with AToC=7, my jaw has dropped into my lap. Holy SHIT does A2 CO look good with no major performance hit. Excuse my French. Best I've ever seen it, and that's saying a lot. It makes me wonder how we got along without FXAASharp all these years. (;))

Righteous!!!!!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------

Edit:

The only thing I've seen that doesn't look so good with the sharpening is distant vehicles and flames when viewed through thermal optics, such as available to a tank gunner or commander.

"Error creating directd 9 graphical engine" without any mods, since I have never intalled a single mod, only BAF and PMC.

I got the same:

== "E:\Games\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -world=empty -showScriptErrors -noFilePatching

Version 1.60.88147
ErrorMessage: Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine

I'm baffled. Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the old beta folder previously? Maybe a few too many files were removed from the current beta?

The same happens, btw., if I use the original, automatically generated beta patch link in the game folder.
