Holmes 10 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) The 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division is a "WWII Realism Unit." This means we use a rank system and structure which is close to how a WWII US Army unit operated, we use tactics and strategies that were used by WWII US Army units, and we operate like a WWII US Army unit would. However, we don't allow the soldiers' "ranks" to go to their head. Instead, we use our structure to provide a well-run and organized unit. We play the game, but our leaders also run training, operations, courses, and various schools. Some of our soldiers are former or current military, but many aren't as well. Our soldiers are all a minimum age of 16. To be an infantryman in this unit, you must be at least 16 years of age to qualify as an enlisted soldier and 18 to qualify as an officer (Must complete the Officer Leaders Course). While our soldiers do play various games, our foundation is based in ARMAII, utilizing the Invasion 1944 WWII Modification. As a WWII Realism unit we do hold drills and operations as well as regular public realism scenarios. My name is Staff Sergeant Alex Holmes of the 1st Infantry Division. In the past few weeks, we have undergone a very important change. We have fully switched from our modern portrayal (3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment) over to that of a more familiar aspect to everyone within the unit; a WWII era unit. Currently, the main portion of our website is under construction due to the amount of change needed. It should be fully operational within a weeks time. Our forums, however, are up and running. We encourage all those with suggestions, concerns, or issues to please post them in the appropriate area on our forums. Once we have our feet set, we will be off and moving. We plan on hosting a campaign starting with the DDay invasion and moving forward into France. Details regarding this campaign will be posted as they are updated. This campaign is not yet finalized and is still much in the planning stage. I would like to thank the Invasion 1944 Development Team for their fine work with this ARMA2 modification and that the steps taken are only for the best. Please keep up the work gentlemen. There were a few errors fixed with the forums (No one was able to register due to some bad coding from a mod) and our main page is fully operational. If you have any questions or concerns please post them in our forums! Also please note, any bugs or glitches with the website should be posted in our forums as well so we can rectify the issue immediately. We are set to start our first Basic Combat Training Class starting March 25, 2012. We will be having 2 BCT Classes per month. All those interested in the [1st ID] are encouraged to submit their enlistment papers as soon as possible so we can get you through processing and placed into the first BCT class of the [1st ID].
