Great work BIS as always. Thanks!

ftp.tier1ops.eu made me download at 10mbyte/s (normal download - no torrent). Good stuff. :)

Last time Steam decided to download everything again. :(

but why do you launch it through steam? Just go to steam/steamp apps/arma 2/arma2oa.exe and creata a shortcut from it, and enjoy, steam wont bother you anymore.:o

Anyone can tell me what "FXAA QUALITY PRESET" i should use ?

Is it just more demanding to the hardware with a higher value (and looks better) ?

I recently bought Combined Operations. So what is the correct installation sequence?

Install Arma 2

Install patch 1.05

Install Operation Arrowhead

Install Reinforcements

Install patch 1.60

.

I think the correct process should be;

Install Arma 2.

Run Arma 2.

Install OA.

Run OA.

Install Reinforcements.

Run OA.

Install Patch 1.60 (which will patch Arma2, OA, BAF and PMC).

It's important to run each one individually to set up the registry entries.

Thank you so much BIS

One question how can I use FXAA and what levels are available?

Does anyone know a link where I can find the definitions of what the quality presets actually do? I have tried to google it and cannot find anything.

OK - this always happens! Found a definition. Here it is for anyone else like me ;-)

Added presets to enable developers to tune performance/quality trade off. Change with define,

#define FXAA_QUALITY__PRESET 12

The 2N presets are like FXAA 3.9 but with slightly better long edge quality. If you have problems with dithering (or ringing) by thin objects then use a 2N preset. The 1N presets trade better long edge quality for more dithering artifacts. For a given cost, 1N presets will have better long edge quality than 2N presets. Notes from the code,

OPTIONS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
10 to 15 - default medium dither (10=fastest, 15=highest quality)
20 to 29 - less dither, more expensive (20=fastest, 29=highest quality)
39 - no dither, very expensive

NOTES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
12 = slightly faster then FXAA 3.9 and higher edge quality (default)
13 = about same speed as FXAA 3.9 and better than 12
23 = closest to FXAA 3.9 visually and performance wise
_ = the lowest digit is directly related to performance
_ = the highest digit is directly related to style
Performance is determined by the last digit. Example runtime for GTX 480 for a 720p frame,

_0 = 0.171 ms
_1 = 0.188 ms
_2 = 0.202 ms (default for FXAA 3.10)
_3 = 0.214 ms (default for FXAA 3.9)
_4 = 0.226 ms
_5 = 0.238 ms
_6 = 0.247 ms
_7 = 0.256 ms
_8 = 0.265 ms
_9 = 0.274 ms

Thank you BIS, haven't been testing betas recently but the volume of releases and feedback and CIT's and feedback, and releases and feedback and CIT's and more feedback and updates, and testing, and server releases & CIT's and testing and feedback and then RC's testing, feedback and CIT's ......

= Probably the biggest single advancement of a patch to outmatch any other company :) .... Im sure there are other examples but none as close nit and direct dialogue than BIS do it.

You chaps have a great New Year :yay::)

PS does the patch include an easter egg of Maruks current hair style and look?
