I just had a look, it's a shading thing. The edge loop crosses the bump from top to bottom at that point. I might need to correct this; luckily the method I am using now projects my side view textures onto the model so even if I change the model I will most likely have to do only minor retouching of the texture

I might make a Leupold Mark 4 HAMR, just because I thought it looked so awesome on those ARMA III videos

Do you have anything in particular in mind with the proportions? I had used the first of the pictures as a reference, and modelled it directly onto it, it seems to be alright to me. Note that the model is not scaled yet, I usually model bigger according to a picture, then scale it down to the right size using the manufacturer's size specifications, so it might be that the ratio between the ACR and the launcher is not correct

Thanks for the reference pictures, I'll try to add some more details to it. I had a hard time finding a good side view from the barrel side, since most people mix it up with the AG36. Looking at the photos, I can see some details I don't have

Well , what i can see from your wip screens - the spring is kinda small and the vertical grip is looking strange

    other parts are OK

Yeah the spring is smaller than it should be. The grip is too wide I think, and there is something off with the lower end. I might just flip it up so it isn't so visible

Thanks for the feedback. Highly appreciated.

So far I only textured the ACR. I'll have a few more pictures soon, I'll post them to another site.

Seeing you always seem to be interested in new tech and techniques i thought i would show you this:
Something i've been noticing recently in use in afghan by some of the marksmen and a few compatition shooters is that a fair few are now mounting T-1/H-1 Micro aimpoints on the side of their scopes for close up use, though i can't seem to find how they are mounted on the scope it self

Edit: Ah, found a pic of the mount: http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/a...BRstuff004.jpg

In the first picture, this seems to be an angled Picatinny rail adapter, although it's hard to be sure...

Correct. Daniel Defense has a very popular 1 or 11 o'clock rail for this, which may be what that is. There's a school of thought that having angled iron sights is better because then you don't have to worry about another "optic" failing if the primary goes down. Others are cool with it because a T-1 will run for years and is pretty tough. If Alwarren were interested in the iron sights option to model, Dueck Defense Sights seem to be the go to product. http://dueckdefense.com/

This is exactly the kind of thing we need, we have too many ACOGS that are about useless because they don't have adequate CQB sights (if any).
