    Low-Resolution on HD6970

Long story short I gotta new graphics card. I went from an HD 4890 to an HD 6950, unlocked the shaders and OCed to a 6970. Nevertheless I'm now encountering an issue where various textures fail to load, or the game just loads the low-res textures. I've tried various combinations of settings in the options and CCC but can't seem to fix this issue. I've tried the various fixes for other ATI cards, but the only things I can't seem to find is the "mipmap" setting in CCC.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the AMD/ATI 11.11 drivers to no effect.

Anyway, this is what I'm encountering:

The textures will be low-res one second:

    Then switch to normal high-res:

And then back to low-res....or they get worse:

Its happening to a variety of textures:

    Here are my settings:

Most of the time when I'm in first person, my player textures are fine:

But switch to third person and bam, low-res:

here are some pics documenting that nothing is wrong for me, having the same gfx card, on lower resolutions the textures look 100% the same as on high res:

    before changing resolutions(3d and normal)

after changing resolutions back to normal resolution:

with the first picture link you could watch all but for better understanding i´ve linked all for their own.
click on picture to enlarge it, this may take a while with slow connections.

all taken with Catalyst 11.11c performance driver:

    my system:

    i7 2600k@4,4ghz
    hd6950@hd6970shader+ 922/1472mhz OC(2gb version/original bios edited)
    8gb 1866mhz ram
    windows 7 64bit
    ArmA II OA@latest beta

if you unlock your hd6950 with wrong bios(so native hd6970 bios on hd6950 card kills it in a while for example due to higher pll voltages) this could cause this issue maybe.

I was also getting this on my HD5970 OC with AMD drivers after 11.9. Running the latest beta with the "-malloc=tbb4malloc_bi" switch has helped along with setting atoc to 0 in the config (I was getting major texture pop-in on trees as well). I am running the 11.11 drivers now and don't see the problem so much with these changes. I am running it off a Vortex SSD so disk access should not be a problem - if you are running off an HDD then you might want to try and defrag it as this can also cause texture loading issues.

Running vanilla didn't solve the issue so I can only assume it is a problem with the AMD drivers after 11.9 with some cards.

I think I am coming across the issue too, and mostly see it on Grass I think.
I think we've had some reports about this issue over at ACE too.

    I do have a 6950 flashed to 70.

after setting your video memory to default, try set texture detail on normal first, if it then no graphic bug appear , you can set to high . And then very high, but do it step by step

The bug went away when I installed v.1.60 RC2...it actually has made so many optimizations to the game, literally I'm getting a 10 to 15 fps boost.

    I haven't had any issues since 1.60 RC2.

I have the same problem just not that pronounced in CO but in arma 2 its the same. I noticed this after the new 1.60 final update. I have my memory set to default so I see no reason for this to be happening other than the new patch or the amd drivers. How can I fix this?

    My specs are:

    -Intel® Core i7-2600K Processor 3.40 GHz
    -Radeon sapphire HD 6850 ( 11.12 )
    -Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1866Mhz
    -win 7 64

Well setting my texture to High fixed the problem
