Do the russians already use this rifle? Or do they plan to use it?
Being used by small numbers, I believe.
Beaten by the AN94 for the Russian Army contract, but it is cheaper to manufacture and a lot simpler to use (the AN94 has very very complicated internal workings).
The Abakan contest for finding a sucsessor vor the AK74M rifles has been won by the AN94 rifle. The AN94 hasn't been fielded in serious numbers, though.Originally Posted by Tonci87

I like it better than the AN94. The AN94 is heavier, doesn't look too ergonomic and is not that accurate in full or longer bursts. The only pro is the AN94s 2 round hole-in-hole burst.

AEK is 0.5 kg lighter than AN-94, simpler in design and cheaper to manufacture.
btw the AK-107 which is main weapon of RU forces in A2 , it got almost same operating system as AEK have.

Also idea for next version
- try to make better specular map ,because the gun looks almost new and no scratches/damage at all
- maybe add PSO scope variants , 1p29 or Kobra sight
