acidcrash 0 Posted June 15, 2002 ok, i know you can make spec ops place satchels with the help of a trigger, but how do i make an AI soldier throw a smoke grenade? What the idea is, is when the group of helos flys through the trigger i want it so an officer at the LZ drops a smoke grenade to make it more visable from the air and to add effect. can anyone give me any help? thanks in advance
Bosun 0 Posted June 15, 2002 Hi. Don't know if this will help, but another option anyway. Flare1 = "Flare Type" CamCreate [GetPos unitname] Just fill in the unitname. Maybe DVChrisDeath will answer your smokegernade (he's kindof clever)
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 15, 2002 that will create flare. i'm sure there is name for smoke grenade. replace "flare type" with "smoke type", where smoke type is name for smoke grenade or name of that effect. if you want your AI to actually throw, then you might have to creat a script that 1.makes AI choose grenade 2.throws/fires it to specific place. hope this helps..i'm not much of scripter
acidcrash 0 Posted June 15, 2002 ok, first i tried what you said bosun, but it didnt work, it came up with an error but thanks anyway second: the AI doesnt have to throw the smoke grenade, just as long as the smoke appears... anyway thanks for your help guys EDIT:this is the error i get btw, after  a few tries with different things, it occured to me to take a screenshot i know it says smokeshell but it originally it was a flare
InqWiper 0 Posted June 15, 2002 Try this: Smoke = "SmokeShellGreen" camcreate [getpos marine1a select 0, getpos marine1a select 1]
