In our username.Arma2OAProfile under Documents\Arma2 (works with dedicated servers, too) we usually set difficulty settings, disable arcade shit like crosshairs, unit markers on map, etc.
But there is also a very important setting called SetTerrainGrid (wiki) or as stated in config:
terrainGrid=10;
Some servers have this set to:
terrainGrid=25.0;
I have two questions:
1) is this a legacy of OFP/A1 and how does it work in A2 (it has to do with LOD switching at different distances or something)?
2) does the command SetTerrainGrid in init.sqs mission file override it?
I'm tired of getting this kind of screenshots for my maps and I dunno what to do? Units are revealed on distant hills, that is particularly damaging in PvP/TvT matches, where units in ambush are exposed...
Please BIS, clear this once and for all.
