RFT DLC utility not working
Hi, I've got Arma II: CO and RFT, both on DVD. I've updated ARMA 2 to 1.10, and OA to 1.59. I put the RFT DVD in and run the setup utility from the site, and it gives me this error:
"Error: Could not read file: (or something like that)"
D:/dlc/setup.bat" D: is my dvd drive. I click "OK" and another window pops up saying "Program may not run correctly (or something like that)". Click "OK", then nothing.
Not sure what to do, I thought the reason for the utility in the first place was to get around the broken setup process. Currently deployed so I can't download anything onto my personal laptop and can only use the internet on government computers. Only way I was able to get the patches was a recent portcall.
Okay I just redownloaded the utility (portcall again), same error. The error SPECIFICALLY says:
File read error:
I click "OK" and it says:
Setup encountered an error
Application may not work properly

Does it not work with normal install ?
the DLC setup utility download is only in case normal setup fails...
also the problem might be security used (UAC and rights level) on your computer considering it's gov computer?
No, the normal install does not work (freezes about halfway through). And I'm not using a government computer, I'm using my personal computer. I only use the government computer for internet. We're not allowed to connect our personal computers to the ship's network nor are we allowed to plug any kind of storage devices into gov computers. That's why I had to wait for a portcall to get the patches and redownload the utility.

I have A2 CO, and had decided to get the Reinforcements DLC disc. I get a freeze on the install of BAF and PMC option. I then found the Setup_RTF_DLC exe., but then still get a freeze as soon as i startup install or setup exe.
Is there something i've missed with this fix? or is there no hope, i don't want to look at thoughs lite textures anymore
Open the Event viewer (Control panel > administrative tools) then look (IIRC) in "system" for error messages (red icon) & see if you have a 'CD ROM has a bad block' error, in which case the disk is faulty and you should ask the retailer for a replacement or refund (your consumer rights will vary depending on jurisdiction, i.e. which country you live in & from where you got the DVD, if in a different country).

You could also try disabling your AV & HIPS (if any; and it's generally advisable to disconnect from the Internet while AV & HIPS systems are disabled) and see if that allows installation. I use Comodo Internet Security & the logs can be useful. However, the fact that it freezes indicates that the first two suggestions may be more relevant.
