Thread: My trip to BIS at Gamescom 2011- Great!

Shapping better then everything I expected it would be except for one thing: no mention on bipods\deployed weapons so far.

For the rest I can only say one thing: And its kind of one year away, it will get even better!

Thank you PP and BIS staff for this.

A good report would have ask about solutions for current A2+OA (CO) issues/bugs eg netcode instead of turning a blind eye on them. Déjà vu A1 > A2 > OA > A3? Its all awesome + great until its sold. But hey BIS have some months to work on doubts and customers experiences... Nothing is as bad as it looks.

I fapped on a lot of features that were announced for A2 and I was very disappointed finding out that a lot of them wasn't compatible or broken in MP mode. Some really useful minor features were never completed and some old bugs from the Cold War Crisis still survived to the latest versions of A2/AO.

I agree with everyone that those features sound awesome, but well ... until now they're nothing but marketing stuff. Anyone remember working elevators that were announced for ArmA I?

I wonder if they have any new concepts for mines, seeing as its 2025 I'm sure they'll be some kind of advancement in that field, though even the oldest of soviet AP mines are effective to this day...

Nice report, most of it I already knew as I had a friend visit the booth too

Mines, as we know them today, will probably continue to be removed from the inventories of most modern militaries and replaced by intelligent "man-in-the-loop" systems like Spider and Scorpion.

"Dumb" mines are too politically incorrect these days.

Although after a protracted future World War, maybe the kiddie gloves will come off again.

I think this is the most likely scenario.

Indeed. At the very least we now have an assortment of mines and explosives to use, in vanilla at least. Of course this will also open up a whole new chapter of teamkilling incidents in MP, lol. Also, oh god oh god, attaching satchels without having a 3rd party addon to do it!!! So many times I manage to sneak up on sleeping piece of armor, plant a satchel under it, and before I can get far enough away, something attracts it's attention and it drives off, ffffffffffFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....
