What is Combat Patrol and how would it end? [Mission Concept]

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm making a random mission ala SecOps and one of the mission I call it as Combat Patrol, but I'm at lost how to go about it (concept wise) and what is its end state.

So far, what I've made is that a Combat Patrol is a mission that the patrol will go to go to a destination (single WP) and make a contact with the enemy. So the trigger for mission completion that I made was activated by OPFOR and DETECTED BY BLUFOR within 500m radius of the WP center.

So basically I just go the wp, make contact and go home. Sounds good enough, but it can be quite boring in games term because most of the time I dont have to fire a shot...

Now what I'm asking the community how to spice things up a bit, or maybe another concept altogether (maybe I can make a different variations of Combat Patrol)

Thanks

Combat patrol can be spiced up in my opinion to go to a few way points with specific objectives, such as village 1 for talking to the elder, village 2 to investigate on intel given by HQ and waypoint 3 to help setup a temporary observation post etc.

Maybe you can try watching documentary such as ross kemp in afghanistan for ideas.

edit: and this firednear eventhandlers for actual combat before triggering a end, now you need to be actually in an engagement or under fire to trigger something.
