Thread: [SP] Enfilade Ambush (Chernarus)

[SP] Enfilade Ambush/Ambushed and Enfiladed (two Chernarus missions in one)

A group of ChDKZ insurgents ambushes a large CDF column in the opening days of the civil war.

This missions features a textbook L-shaped ambush on a large scale. Engagements like this are a pain to set up while trying to control AI, so this mission places everyone in readiness in advance. The mission is balanced so that twenty ordinary troops can take on eighty enemies, without any crutches like explosives or better weapons.

It is set during the beginning of the Chernarussian Civil War in the 90s (as is another mission coming out soon), and I have some fun writing a bit of imaginary history into the briefing. This is the first mission I have ever completed and released, so I hope people like it. Come to think of it, this mission was over a year in the making and was re-created twice. It should be a very short, intense experience of the sort you don't often see in this game.

Made with Combined Operations. No Operation Arrowhead content is used, so the mission may work in Arma 2.

No Addons Required, but the weapons handling of ACE and the reduced accuracy of ZEUS AI makes the engagement play out a bit better.

If anyone wants to turn this into a co-op mission or something like that, I give them free reign.

Special thanks to Cotabucky for teaching me all the trigger stuff on Steam chat. And thanks to everyone in this thread for posting so many suggestions that prevented me from giving up and literally pulling the .sqm from CTD oblivion: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=120996

Edit: And now it's two missions in one.
Ambushed and Enfiladed is the exact same mission, but played from the CDF perspective. Can you fight your way out of the killzone? I threw this together tonight and haven't playtested it extensively, meaning that it may be too hard. It's also easy to abuse if you know where the ambush is, but people may want to play around with the scenario.

Naw, I can do run it fine on my 2.53 dual core laptop. Framerate doesn't matter terribly much when you don't need to maneuver quickly.

And it is over very fast, lol. The funny thing is that as patches have come and gone, the balance of the battle has swayed backwards and forwards. Maybe sometime I will release a 'hardcore' version where you have fewer men with you.

Edit: Or possibly a version from the CDF's perspective.

I have two more missions in the pipeline, for something of a Chernarussian Civil War pack.
Autumn Siege is already done, although bear in mind it requires ACE.

I'm also working on The Refugees, where you attempt to escape from the Berezino warzone in a civilian car.

After that I plan to re-create an old mission called Helicopter Evac, where a civilian chopper pilot has to fly NOE through a valley to rescue civilians.
My Chernarussian Civil War SP missions:
    Enfilade Ambush
    Autumn Siege
