Thread: Wav2lip won't make the file

  1. #1
I downloaded Wav2Lip along with a small little tutorial telling you what to do. I changed the wav file to 22,050 Hz and 16 bit Mono....I unzipped wav2lip to desktop since the guy who wrote the tutorial said he could only get it to work from there......I dragged the wav file to the wav2lip icon and it doesn't do anything. I followed the tuturial exactly, but it won't make the lip file. I searched for posts in the last year about wav2lip and found several threads about it, I noticed someone else had the wav file setup correctly but still couldn't get it to work like me.....no one found an answer for him though

I tried several wav files, and I checked each one to make sure I had properly changed it to the right specifications......it just won't work for whatever reason.

I'm not sure but I think wav2lip doesn't work with Win2000 or with WinXP.

    1) We recently found one issue in Wav2lip. When you drop wav file that has either long path or its path contains some spaces, it will not work. It should work well with files that have path similiar to c:\sound\mySpeech.wav.

    2) Wav file must be plain PCM file, no compression codecs are supported.

    3) Waw2lip works with Win2000 and WinXP, but you may experience more problems, as default desktop path contains spaces. It is therefore not possible to drag and drop files from Win2K Desktop to Wav2Lip.

    No spaces in the path.....hmmmmm
I'll try it again when I get home.

    Thanks for the info, Suma

Thanks Suma, it wasn't working because of the spaces. The places I install programs to usually have spaces in the path, I would have never guessed it wasn't working because of that.

That tip should definitely be added to the readme for Wav2Lip.

Or maybe we could fix it? I am not sure which is easier.

Maybe you should have an urgent meeting and discuss about what should be done. ***
