Pretty lame that they're only making a remake of the previous game in the series, Jagged Alliance 2. JA2 with the 1.13 mod has more features and improvements than Back In Action can ever hope to accomplish.
Looks amazing. will probably get it. Tropico 3 also remade by Kalypso and I got it. I can say for tropico, they really capture the feels of the original, with better gfx. I hope they can do the same for JA3
Remaking?
There is another better suited word for what they are doing and it also starts with "R"
Fix AI in ArmA3
AI knows enemy position at all times, no matter what (incl. video) || AI reflexes are extremely bad in CQB (incl. video) || AI can't see enemies being lit by light at night
Fix realism issues with ArmA3
Sprinting is too fast and instantaneous || It takes 0.1 sec to pull a pin and throw a grenade || The sun is not dangerous (this is NOT for A2 HDR, it's for A1/A2 sun visual) || floating camera when rolling and aiming
What's with the negativity, guys?
The real-time-with-pause system (which is what it is) is the perfect mix between old-school turn-based slowness and modern too-fast-too-furious real time. It looks like it'll work perfectly for JA as well - provided they lower the accuracy on the late-game rifle toting enemies who have a tendency towards 100% hit rate even against prone-in-cover people :P The 3D engine, furthermore, allows you to actually see if you're in cover or not when crouching behind a rock, rather than making guesses based on the 2D terrain. Hopefully they'll keep the "actually shoot bullets out of the guns" mechanic the old JAs had, rather than fully replacing it with a lame-o pure %-based system (à la Fallout).
If this thing turns out good, and turns out to be a hit, then just imagine where it might go next.
WE MIGHT ACTUALLY GET A HIGH FIDELITY 3D TRUE-TO-THE-SOURCE REMAKE OF X-COM.
What's not to love?

Wolfrug
I keep tracking this title since ages. Sure it looks nice but I'm afraid this game wont bring nothing new into the series except the graphics.
I mean guys have you played JA2 with the 1.13 customization? Thousands of guns, weapons mods, tactical items, lbe gear and uniforms stuff, not to mention many ai tweaks. I cant imagine playing the original JA2 without 1.13 at this moment. I can only hope that all brilliant guys from the Bears Pit JA community will do something quick
I'm not really fond with how they replaced the good old turn based system into the planned combat mod. Player should have a choice between the turn based system or tactical one.
I wonder if the game engine allows to destroy walls, and obstacles piece by piece due to bullet hits or explosion. Something like in Silent Storm where we loved the fights in those beaut villages, only to leave rubble and smoke afterwards
I played two similar games in the recent years. All new with 3d graphics, some new gameplay and weapon solutions etc, definite JA inspirations. Check out these titles: Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge, 7,62 High Calibre.
