I was in a situation last night playing warfare where myself and an enemy player (both of us in tanks) were dueling it out. I was in the gunner seat, had him targeted and was firing some shots off but had to swap to driver seat because of the quality AI this game has, which was doing 360 turns on the spot instead of driving forward.
I got the tank going the right way whilst ordering my AI gunner to keep firing. About 5 shots had been fired so I swapped back to the gunner seat wondering how the enemy tank hadn't been nutted by now. The target wasn't even on the enemy tank anymore, it was a good 50 metres behind him so obviously the AI was hitting nothing. Anyway the enemy tank got a hit on me, so I had to abandon my crippled tank.
So my question is why does this happen? Neither of us popped smoke or went behind a hill/had our view obscured. This is one of quite a few times I remember this happening. Is targeting supposed to behave this way? Do I need to re-target after every shot so I'm assured of getting a hit?
