Thread: All the Bis game have Counter Strike sounds

  1. #21
The problem is that there is no such thing as a real sound effect. Cameras aren't ears. You have to overemphasize to even remotely mimic the true effect of gunfire. The sound has to overprovide, because the shoulder bruises and smell of powder isn't there.

And for the record, CoD sounds are usually a dull, muddy thumpa-thumpa. Not a good model at all. Even with vanilla sounds, you average CoD firefight would be absolutely thunderous if re-created in ArmA.

BIS suggests that you should play with the sound effects turned way up to get the most out of their effects. I would love to, but my neighbours probably would not.

The funny thing about Arma video settings is that it doesnt affect FPS that much I woudn't be complaiing if I could run it really smooth on medium. But it runs almost same on medium and high, so I prefer to make it look better if I have to deal with low FPS situations anyway.

You can make it heavy if you want. Arma scales upwards pretty nicely, people don't know about mah 2011 hardware. Get a new CPU if you can't run the most CPU intensive game in the industry.

Although the sounds never broke the immersion for me , I have to agree that there is room for improvement . The heavy hitters such as the M134 and the GAU could use some work .

Would rather be happy to stay with ArmA2/OA sounds ir ArmA 3 if the other option is the crap BC2 hollywood sounds.

Weapons in real life arent that loud and soldiers dont wear ear protection?

weapons are that loud, especially in built up areas --- so are vehicles, especially planes, they tend to drown out all noise in the area, wish arma could simulate that! would be badass
    fill your boots with soup
