For some of us(probably just me) its not easy to just go the the videogame store and buy every fricking game we want. In my case the video game store is a "few" scandinavian miles away, over some fjords and shit, and its really expensive just to get over those fjords and over to the store.
The video game stores usually don't have any other games than the best sellers and the very new ones, and that really sucks, on Steam there are thousands of games(old and new) I can buy cheaper than at the damn video game store!
I read earlier in this thread that people didn't like how ArmA 2 patching was done in Steam and said its Steam's fault, well its not! I have many games on Steam that auto-patches and actually keeps the mod files! Its the creators fault if they didn't want the game to auto-patch correctly in Steam.
Steam is my best choice, and quite frankly I don't get why so many people hate the good parts that come with it for your games, sure there is a lot of achievement bullshit that you don't really need(and thats why you have to hate it so much...) but I have never really looked in to that stuff anyway since all I wanna do is play my games with my friends!(Its great how I get those bonuses without paying extra for them and can use them if I want to)
