How to enter Su-34 pilot's seat?

Sometimes, when I'm really bored, I do the armory missions in Arma2. A couple of times I've had the steal item mission, with Su-34 Platypus as the item to steal. I've spent some 15 minutes total trying to figure out how to access the pilot's seat, but I've only found a way to climb in the gunner's seat. Am I just dumb or is it impossible to enter the pilot's seat in armory?

Standing beneath the ladder, point your crosshair above it, you will get an option to get in both seats.
