I preorder in short at ebay, though I don´t need that shitty bonus DVD in german version. Nonetheless surely one of the best things to happen for WW2 enthusiastic gamers and ARMA folks in particular! :)

Unless a complete physics change (or an major cell size reduction, which increases lag), trenches won't be usable by AI.

From evaluating the vid on AWAR YT channel, I´d say the trenches and gunpits are structures similar to houses with set individual positions. So it´s more like bigger "strongpoint" objects and not single trench (parapets) ones, as in i44. That means, one can´t probably place them everywhere on a map, but we´ll see...

We have almost all the ranks from private to colonel presented in the game, everyone with their various insignias, you will be able to note it in the game yourself. Everything is authentic, accurate, with attention to detail. By the way, you can see it by yourself in the "russian" video about the infantry, take a look at the shoulder boards for example, you will be able to note the various ranks.

Not just that! :) I think I also noticed you added some "ethnic" faces at least on some russian and german officers/NCOs:

Watch between 02:26 and 02:50

In both campaigns there are some pretty interesting custom faces.

I think such cool custom faces could also appear randomly in self made games from the mission editor?

Just wondering... Will the game include a Panzerfaust 60 or 30? I haven't seen them in screenshots or videos so far.

What for do you have Panzershreck ?

The Panzerschreck was a weapon for specialists operating in anti tank platoons, while the Panzerfaust was issued to the ordinary soldier as well. So it wouldn't be realistic at all to have Panzerschrecks in every rifle squad.

Agreed. Panzerfraust was popular for soldiers in a general squad. And such rockets could be one time usage. But many soldiers carried them to anti tank in German troops from 1944. Hope to get some new animations by iron front for it if they would add it in future DCL.

I really hope Panzerfausts are included, it would be wrong to leave them out just because there's no right animation for them.

What IF needs is the ability to have small repeatable battles 15:15 using tanks only to emulate World of Tanks. That will make it a keeper.

I'm specifically looking forward to have a lower barrier to "get into" the game. I've abandoned Arma for quite some time because a) I just don't know enough people for regular team-play and b) it takes a very steep learning curve (I'm only talking MP now).

I've returned now thanks to DayZ and thus became aware of IF. One hope I've is that it's game modes are not necessarily less realistic but more straight forward in terms of what the goal is so it's easier "to jump in" to the game.

It seems there won't, look here.

I also felt that it should be in, so I just started work on a Panzerfaust 60. Here's an early shot of it:

Not sure why. It seems MG34, G43, svt40 also missing in the first release. But I think they woulteased them in DLC later.

It has been said by the developers along the lines of "yes" and "no". "Yes", the game will just have the same modding capability like any other RV3 based engine. The engine itself is not modified according to them. But due the massive changes of game related data, the mods may have problems here and there and would need adjustments. IMHO it depends on how invasive the mod itself tries to change the game.

What I would love to know is if the beta patches would also work (or will there be a restriction on just using full patches)?

+1 Would like to know too.

My guess is "yes", because they're using the unmodified engine.
