Thread: Can i use radio script for multiple commands

  1. #1
Ok. I was thinking of using the radio to control other groups, even to the point of controlling them as though they were your own.

My idea is to use the radio (0-0) to bring a list of groups you can control.

This is where my knowledge fails. Can you allow another list to be displayed when the choice in this list is made?

If so I was thinking you could use a large script to access all the normal commands you can give to your own group and give "All" orders to the group, or be able to order the individual units within the group. Of course this would only be possible for groups of up to nine if you wanted to include a select all.

So is it possible to bring up a new list of selectable items after you select one from the previous list, and continue to do so as many times as you want?

    I just wanna pop heads.

No. this allows you to select groups and give them move orders by using your map.

What I was wanting to know is possible or not is can you hit 0-0 to bring up a list of options, then select another option (1-0) to bring up another list etc.

Are you refering to SelectThis command script or my Command Engine?

In my Command Engine I use a generic radio menu script that does exactly what you want, i.e. selecting a radiobutton will open a new list of options (in principle infinitely). I think at the OFPEC there is also another script that does that.

To simply print new text in the radio menu, use the SetRadioMsg command:
    ID SetRadioMsg "text"

where ID is a number from 1 to 8 corresponding to the eight radiochannels Alpha, Bravo, ....

Thus displaying a new set of options is quite easy, the tricky thing is to have the proper action for each radio button performed depending in which menu you are currently in.
