Spoiler:
Can't you just downsize... say by half, and then use the multiplier on "new project" to reflect the actual size?

yes just figured that out myself but it takes ages to import stuff into my map
is this normal ??
Yes ... and the more accurate is the _Sat and _Mask the longer is the loading time ... and the opening in Buldozer.
If you test a 20.48 km x 20.48 km map [Terrain 2048- 10m terrain grid] with a 2048 x 2048 _Sat and _Map the opening in Buldozer will be less than 1 min,
opening the same map with a 10240 x 10240 _Sat and _Map will take around 20 min. I hope I will find some way around, for it seems that the loading time is longer now ...
At the moment, I can say I have lost patience while trying to build a 40960 km x 40960 km map with very detailed _Sat and _Map
So I suggest to have a working version of the _Sat and _Map with a lower definition and only use high def pics on last versions ... on MaskMapper you can use this kind of lower pics.
About the map loading time I wonder if there is a solution of the problem here :

Hi Guys....
Firstly... @BlackMamba.... Basically, Yeah - importing LOTS of objects - like whole forests - can take ages... that's one of the reasons the WorldTools Forest Generator allows you to save your forests in chunks - by treetype, colour type, etc... several smaller files import faster than one big one... I think RAM has something to do with it as well - much like smoothing roads... a fresh start of Visitor, load the project and then immediately do the import/smooth the road, can sometimes make things go a little faster, or even make a road that wouldn't finish smoothing actually complete...
With all but the biggest whole-forests-in-one import files though - it will finish... it's just one of those go make a coffee jobs...
@Old Bear...
Are you using arma2oa.exe as Buldozer???
I and many others griefed for ages over this increased loading time thing... My 20480x20480 Sat layer project was taking up to 90 minutes to load...
It was discovered recently that adding "-exThreads=0" to your "Command to launch realtime viewer" bit in Visitors "System Preferences" cured the problem entirely...
I'm back to about 3 or 4 minutes loading time again with my huge project...
There was a thread by Commander/Gnome I think about the solving of this whole issue which I can't immediately find...
