Latest stats:

- Over 3000 players peak last night, that's a record!

Note non dedicated servers have been included since about a month.

These people must all be in passworded servers :)

About 893 passworded servers from the 7000 available in the all servers list (keeps them in cache for a week before disposing).

That's not even 1/7th, but of course active servers (numplayers > 0) might be largely passworded servers, I don't have stats specific to that.

Over 4400 concurrent players yesterday on over 600 servers! A new mark in ARMA history!

Nearly 200 players more than last week, and nearly 1000 more than weeks before :)

Probably the increase can be appointed to the DayZ phenomenon that has taken hold of the community past weeks, perhaps the BI Forums down forced some peeps to actually Play as well :D

Earlier increases could be noticed I believe after the 1.60 patch with improved MP, and other major Mod releases.

Impressive.

Might have to delay the ArmA3 release until this increase is past its peak ;)

shshsh Nou, don't hint BI to turn into zombie games. :)

Wonder about count of unique players connecting to Arma every day/week or so.

Who knew zombies were so popular (well duh... :p).

Well, people in this very community have said that zombies is a marginal niche that shouldn't be catered.

Rule no 1.

Don't trust BI forum talk by fanatics.

I would say it should be catered too, but if the focus of BIS became zombie games I'd do as snoop d oh double g said and drop it like its hot.

And do what? Mod BF3? :D

In any case I don't see why BIS would change focus. Take On is a civvy game too, their focus seems to be ARMA/milsim though. Not sure why it would be different for a Zombie theme.

Not very hard to see what the reason for the explosion is:

(gaps due to me messing with the database)

They hit over 2000 players recently and 2300 yesterday (boosting overall players to over 5000):

Some stat inconsistencies occur due to being under development.

Many more stats, comparisons and improvements etc planned, including improved frequency.

How much has the player count of non-DayZ games increased?

At peak, about 1500 players more than usual

---------- Post added at 13:52 ---------- Previous post was at 13:45 ----------

Ah wait you probably meant not how much players have increased overall, but if less or more players are playing on non DayZ mod servers?

Probably should work by subtracting the DayZ player count from the Overall player count, and then comparing it to data before DayZ was released.

I'll see if I can provide this short term, rather swamped atm :P

Most of all take the special sales/offers into consideration..... and that "everything new has to be discovered" aka human curiosity. :)
