Angry Bis wiki pages toooooo...oooo wide

    To whatever power maybe.

I do not often shout on the forums; but since the Website and Forum update the:
BIS WIKI PAGES HAVE BECOME TOOOOOO...OOOO WIDE
and no longer auto re-size the tables or justify text. Even on a 19 inch monitor at 1280 by 1024 resolution the page flows off the screen. This means you cannot work efficiently with two windows, in say the mission editor and the Wiki; or a text editor and the Wiki, or even make corrections to the Wiki efficiently.

HECK IN ALL HONESTY EVEN READING THE WIKI IS A PAIN NOW.
I am getting tennis watchers neck and my optical mouse is wearing out dragging the page from left to right.

I noticed the same effect on the the forums early on as the website and forume were updated and it was corrected I thought the same problem on the Wiki would eventually be fixed. It has not so:

Time to politely SHOUT and make a fuss, not something we Brits are very good at, I know, so please accept my inability to do this in the correct way.

    Kind Regards walker
Should I put kind regards there this time? If I came from Tunbridge Wells rather than just being forced to climb there when in Living in London I am sure I could do this complaining thing better, I do apologize

You are only a bullet away from being stupid.

Try holding CTRL and hitting +/- (or mouse wheel) to shrink/expand what's on screen

    Hi PoorOldSpike

I am fully aware of all Disability functions in Windows products. This also reduces text size thus making it harder to read, not easier.

    Loss of Functionality
The capability of having two or three windows on screen is what was in place before the format change; that no longer exists. The problem is that the table part style sheet for sub pages beyond the initial home page has been altered to make it a fixed width. This is incorrect web page development practice. By having text in re-sizable tables, one can change it to column form, as per news paper columns, so that it can be speed read, which is very useful. Basically the functionality of the web page has been reduced by the change in format.

    Proper Web page development
I am guessing the web page developer has a wide screen and has it set at a width of 1600 or greater. Developing web pages on such a system is considered a big no no. If you are developing web pages you generally do most of your work at the lowest resolution, thereby ensuring that the biggest possible population can read you web page. Yes you alter the resolution to see how nice it looks like at a higher resolution but you do the work at the lowest. And ensuring the Web page is readable to all, and as flexible to a users needs as possible, is considered fundamental to web page development.

    Some more detailed explanations:

Consider this well designed web page:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_page_design
    Readable at any resolution

Then compare it to this one
    http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Mission_Editor
Only "readable" (and I use that word advisedly as it is not really readable; tennis neck soon ensues while reading it) at a resolution greater than 1280.

Try resizing both pages and see your results.

    Kind Regards walker

Thanks indeed! I didn't notice it at first, but when walker mentioned it, I found some pages that showed the problem well :P
