Insurgency 0.72 problems and open mike

Q1 - I am having a problem joining Insurgency 0.72 games particularly when joining the Taliban side.
It freezes with a splash screen. I can hear some ingame environment sounds and the ping with the hint where it tells you to click the map to spawn. If I press escape it says "you were kicked off the game".

It all started after an insurgency server crashed. Is there some cache somewhere I have to delete?

The multiplayer joining process in general is not as smooth as it was.

Q2 - Open Mike - I have been kicked a few times for having an open mike. I press 'Caps lock' twice to try to stop it but can't seem to get it to switch off. Can anyone give some advice on how to tell if your mike is open and how to stop it? I don't have the microphone icon on the screen when this happens?

Q1 is solved - deleted the multiplayer games saved in the cache and it's fine now.
