    Simple Linux tut site?

I have a new PC, and at least one application that requires Linux. Now, I don't wish to have a seperate Linux machine, basically I want what I have now with the option to boot into Linux once in a while, or even better to run it in a virtual machine within Windows 7 64 bit (the Linux app, although dealing with lots of data, is in itself not too resource-hungry). Anyone know of a good, easy to follow resource to enable this?

now i used microsft apps under linux ubuntu with whine but im not aware off the possebilety to use linux apps in such a way, the only way that i know off to aprouch it is to install a dual boot so you can swich on and off. if you dual boot such an install you need to have your microsoft os first and then the linux or ubuntu.
