Lag/performance issues in PMC COOP campaign?

Anyone else experiencing lag/performance issues when playing the PMC campaign in COOP? I can play the campaign just fine in SP and it's pretty damn smooth. Same thing with other online modes and coop campaigns. But whenever my friend connected to me I felt the performance lag and sometimes it would take him a forever to "load into" his character. Only got as far as the first mission in COOP btw. In SP I made it all the way to mission 5 without any performance issues. Now I've got a Core 2 Duo, while my friend is still stuck with a Pentium D. We both have 4 GB of RAM.

I think the game will will run at the for all users at the slowest computers performance, so your friends P4D is just not fast enough. This is a guess, but a lot of online games work like this to sync.

P4D's are very slow, Core2Duo's are old now too and cheap, maybe he can upgrade
