Thread: Request for .obj importer

  1. #1
Now for a while i've been using LightWave 7 to make my models. Now after exporting as a 3ds via Lightwave 7 the first time i tried to import a .3ds into Oxygen it gave me an error

    Missing "KFDATA" error.

So for a while now i've been using other programs to help do the exporting for me (Deep Exploration, Milkshape) so i can import properly. I'm pretty sure that its my exporter that is the problem not oxygen but it would help thoseof us who dont use 3d Studio Max or AutoDesk to be able to import our models as .obj file.

    thanx

    this is an easy fix.

have someone import the .3ds into 3dsmax and then re-export into .3ds

It will them import into oxygen..

I have already run into this issue and that solved it

Oh.. so now i only have to contact my old buddies who own Max licenses everytime i want to import my models in Oxy? I wonder what they will charge me for the convertion process. especially since the license of 3D Studio Max costs $3000 or so.

It's not a fix i'm willing to work with.

    Sorry to hear your pliet.

But importing and exporting the model only take a matter of min's.

Ask around here, many of the modelers have a copy of 3dsmax, and i'm sure if you ask they would fix a model for you.

Personally I'd settle for an LWO import option in Oxygen...
