Removing city names from the map

Is it possible to remove city names from the map? I assume they exist as markers in the island pbo, and I am wondering if I can use deleteMarker to get rid of them, much like you can target other map objects with scripts. Any help would be appreciated.

They're not a marker but a location. You might be able to change their text using setText. I do it for custom locations I create, but I've never tried island ones.

anyone tried this? I put this on a trigger which covered area of my city but still have it's own name:

A terrain's config can not be changed using the location script commands, but they can be found and read. This provides a single command method of finding nearby high points, towns, etc.
