Thread: COOP 20 Takistan Force (OA)

    I suggest playing it at:

    [parameters]
    veteran
    5 missions to win/loose
    8 lifes per mission
    12 ai recruitable
    short day lenght
    no rallypoints
    50 ieds
    enemy random camps on
    enemy patrols and reinforcements on
    civillians enables

But for that you need real teamwork to get through the mission. Voice communication is needed to.

Btw i love playing with acre. Cool addon!

We just had a good play through tonight. We failed the first four but then got the next 4 done. Then we had too many deaths on the final mission and failed the operation. Most of the deaths in the final were due to helicopter related things. Pilot got sniped from our apache, i bailed and landed on a patrol. I flew back in a bunch of people and then we took fire but they bailed out too low. Apache pilot picked me up after and I got sniped from the cockpit. Then I think someone else got hit and the mission failed.

    Really fun level.

Is there an A-10 in it anywhere? I don't want one i'm just wondering because I saw someone using one but kind of thought he was cheating due to the huge number of rockets he was firing and the fact I hadn't seen one in there before. Then I couldn't find one at Rasman or the FOB.

@Zothen: Next version will have a medic tent and some ambulance humvees at base, as well as a MEV Blackhawk for your emergeny evacs - no medics for pilots though.

@Jakerod: Snipers can make use of laser designators to mark a target, then call in an AI controlled A10 bomber dropping a GBU on the target. That's what you might have seen.
However, the A10 is supposed to drop the bomb, maybe fire a few rockets during approach, but then to leave the battlefield immediately. When the A10 you saw kept flying around shooting on enemies, it might have been a bug (will give it a check, however, telling AI NOT to do something is very hard in ArmA2), or there was in fact a cheater on the server.

@kdjac: version 1.0 is finished, though not tested and not released yet. Will spend the upcoming week for testing, so expect the final to be released end of next week.

This guy was a pilot the last time I had checked in the mission. He had flown a blackhawk a few minutes before. I also thought I remember seeing "A-10: guy's name" at one point too when my cursor was over it. I'm going with he was cheating, which given his attitude during the game doesn't surprise me. I would say 99% chance it is not a bug then.

got a small problem , when someone dies it counts it as two deaths rather then one ,this is abit of a problem because that means that we double our chances each time in getting a mission failed, is it a possible problem with the mission or is that server side ?

Other then that its a great mission , works really well, just got one question was you going to put some jets in like a-10s or something like that ?

Regarding the deathcount, check out the 1.0beta on the Tfor-server and test it again. Never encountered that bug.

Also bon said he wont add anything else to the current 1.0beta - just bugfixing. So you wont see anything heavier than the Apache, which is good. The Linbackers edition will remove the 2nd Apache again, cos it clearly showed that they can easily solo the missions, which is not very entertaining.

This indeed is a serious bug within the injury system which I can confirm exists in the 0.9 beta but is fixed in the upcoming 1.0 final.

You are of course free to edit this mission to your desires, adding jets and stuff to it, but in my opinion, and as Zothen stated already, this one Apache is more than enough - you just need one skilled pilot flying this gunship to rock more than half of all missions on solo.

Hey Bon! Would like to suggest a few ideas for mission balancing.

We had a supply mission yesterday with a nice bunch of players (2 tanks, 1 stryker, apache, CH with rep truck, 3 humvees). While its still one of the best missions it was rather a cake-walk! I think when you come in with so much stuff the spawned enemies should beef up. Maybe some heavier stuff and some enemies on the surrounding hills? (flanking maneuvers) And a speedy patrol that closes in from behind? Would be awesome!

The destroy convoy mission could need more biting AA, cos its technically "the" apache solo mission. Not sure what would be a good change, but the AA needs to better lock up the air vehicles. Even if its just with a trick (trigger range).

Destroyfirebase could need better defense, too. Some static AA, AT and MGs instead of the arties. (Whats their job anyway?)

An artyfirebase could be used for another variation for the Investigate mission where the surprise is a bombardement with arty with wide scatter, so the players have to survive, search and take out the arty base.

just my 2 cents. Love that mission!
