Graphical Settings
Hi I am new to ArmaII : Arrowhead (and I don't own ArmaII the original, I do of course own Arrowhead) could the more experienced players offer some advice on performance vs. graphical settings please?
My PC spec is:
Intel QuadCore (qx6700) @3.2GHz
8GB of DDR2-800 RAM
Ati 4890 GPU (1024MB mem)
Monitor Res: 1900x1080
I had heard from the reviews that max settings is unrealistic for my spec of PC but some settings were OK to push up a bit so any advice welcome.
Thanks in advance.

i think your specs are good, better them my. you could play it on medium/high and get decent performance. i have less specs and get normal performance.

It will take a lot of experimentation and will depend on whether you like PP effects or not. Pushing those to high can cause some serious hiccups so if you need more performance I suggest you look there first along with AA.
Run the benchmark test in the single missions menu to test fps. People tend to like to push 3d resolution past 100% to get the game looking good, but this also will have big impact.

Your specs be much better than mine so you will most likely be able to pull alot more frame rates, for comparison-
dual core 2.8
4gb DDR2
x2 (or x1) 9500GT
With this I can push terrain detail, object detail, a viewdistance of 3-5K maybe more if piloting. I can also run shadows and high textures and normal anistrophic filtering so you should have no problem.

Please continue in the thread posted by Simon, that's a pinned thread specifically for such discussions (as per the title of the thread)
If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!
Please do not PM or Email me directly about your CD Key issues, follow the guidance in this thread instead.
