Words from the commanding staff, :yay:

Building a small and fun community that allows the users a lot more freedom than most of the usual tactical units is our main goal.

There are ranks in ATF to prevent chaos;

ATF-Command ( Takes care of website, teamspeak, game server etc....)

ATF-FTL (FTLs are allowed to create their own small units and manage them the way they want, uniform, gear,
members etc....)

ATF-Operator (They are the game server admins and helpers)

ATF-Recruit (People that want too either become Operator, FTL or Command)

ATF does not try to replicate any real life military organisations. The FTLs on the other hand can decide to create their own group basing them on any real life units they want.

Having multiple small groups working as a joint task force to overcome challenges and defeat our enemies during missions is the goal here.

-The Command staff issues general mission briefing to the FTLs
-FTLs general mission planning overview
-FTLs brief their units
-Everyone gets set and Command gives the go call.

We know that this will not be an easy and overnight process, but we are willing to give it a try.

We are currently looking for people interested in the general Idea that are willing to help work on it to develop from our basic structure.

Im sure this will be asked a few times ... YES! you can create a recon/sniper operative unit if you become FTL and successfully passed the Recon Advanced Marksman course. (the course is not a test but a general task and rules of engagement description for such units)

We will need pilots for transport and/or close air support also.

So there ya go here is the idea we are giving a try.

Hope to see some of you guys interested.

In short. I have a mission file it works from the editor and when I launch it locally. However once I launch it dedicated no-one can join. You don't even get into the lobby the client just sits at the loading screen forever.

I placed a diag_log "test"; on the first line of the init.sqf but it never appears in the logs. The logs keep spamming Server error: Player without identity.

Anyone got any kind of clue as to what could be causing this? I've been troubleshooting this problem for more than a week now and have made zero progress.

Hi all

This isn't my first look at "TOH". I first tried it a while ago, but RL distractions and an unfortunate hard drive problem pulled me away from it before I even got properly started really. Now though, inspired by a fantastic birthday present earlier this month of an "X52Pro" HOTAS and "TrackIR" (No Pedals though, not now and not in the near future.) I decided to re-install "TOH" and have another crack at it. :yay:

I'm very much enjoying working my way through the training missions. I didn't get very far yet and have just reached the take off tutorial. In doing so though I have reached a bit of a crossroads and am trying to decide which route to take.

While I've been fine in the air, flying through rings and generally waving at the sunbathing babes on the boats below. This tutorial I am finding discouragingly difficult. I have the difficulty set to "trainee" by the way. So am cutting myself every kind of slack.

I remember from last time around that it was really difficult, but back then I was using my old "Extreme 3D Pro" stick and while I love it to bits and we've tackled many great sims together, it is getting a little long in the tooth and my feeling that its sensitivity was an issue, has been borne out by a huge result in "DCS A-10C Warthog", where the new HOTAS has enabled me to immediately succeed at a training maneuver I was consistently failing in before.

So I was hoping for a little easier time of it in "TOH" with the new setup, but sad to say it seems however careful I try to be I simply can't manage a hover. I mean I'm not even close. The bird probably gets about six feet off the ground before it decides to go wildly wandering one way or the other and any careful counter pressure I try to apply, sends me drunkenly lurching the other way. I'm failing every time for leaving the take off area instead of hovering.

Goodness knows there's little point in my leaving this lesson without getting it right, because the next one is landing and... well we know where that's going don't we.

Thing is.. I'm not really asking for advice with that. (Although advice is always welcome) I fully appreciate that it's going to be a matter of practice and trying to get my pasty paws around the problem. But all the time I'm being tempted by the auto hover option. The training text actually says words to the effect of "if you find this too hard, use the auto hover. Go on, you know you want to." (ok..it might not actually say that last bit.)

So yes I could do that and yes it'd see me through this lesson and the landing lesson as well. But I wanted to do it properly and this feels so much like cheating. Plus, unless I'm going to commit to just using the auto hover feature forever, sooner or later I'm going to have to master this challenge.

I wonder if I just roll with it and take the hit, whether getting much more used to the flight model, might magically make this easier somehow at a later stage. Somehow I doubt it though.

Anyway, while I decide which way to roll on that, I wondered whether any of you might be able to recommend a series of good solid tutorials on YouTube covering the early aspects of learning the sim. All I've been able to find are vids of people flying about over Seattle (lots of em) and I'm sure that there must be video guides out there somewhere by the "TOH" enthusiasts.

See you up there folks. :D

Hi This is is my first post. Im not certain which forum this should go in, but its for ARMA 2 OA, it is for an ARMA 2 OA mod, its FREE and it is...

Hi This is is my first post. Im not certain which forum this should go in, but its for ARMA 2 OA, it is for an ARMA 2 OA mod, its FREE and it is complete, has no ads, no IAP, completely noncomercial. Just thought it needed doing.

GOOGLE PLAY LINK

So, what is this?

Its is a marksman/sniper calculator for android phones. It is only useful if you are running ACE mod.

How does it work?

RANGE
Enter the range to your target obtained by any means, the more accuate (Rangefinder) the better.

ELEVATION
When do i need to enter these values?:
Whenever there is a significant difference in elevation between you and your target the hypothenuse of a triangle is the value you get from the rangefinder, when it is the bottom leg you need to shoot correctly.

If you have connected the Vector to your DAGR and use the range found in the DAGR after ranging the target, these values are not needed.

You can not enter values that together with the range form anything but a right triangle. You will get 'NAN'

Sh. Elev. ASL: Your elevation above sea level.
T.Elev. ASl: Target Elevation above sea level.

WIND
Enter the crosswind in m/s.

The windage value in the app is always positive unless you need to use the wind dir button (see below). In game you use the arrow keys to adjust windage to the left or right (positive/negative). You need to press [SHIFT-K] to get the wind direction. If the arrow is pointing right ingame it means you have to adjust to the negative windage value you got from the app, pointing left means positive value.

WIND DIR Button
When do i use this?:
When you dont have a kestrel and you have estimated the wind strength by reading the ingame wind arrow [SHIFT-K]. You then enter your estimation based on the color code, then you click the wind dir button untill the arrow on the app matches the arrow ingame. It will shiw you the correct windage.

MISC
If you only enter a range but leave all other fields empty it will do a straight up elevation adjustment calculation based on the range only.
If you enter wind as well, it will do that too.
If you only enter one of the elevation values, they will not be considered.

Before you have chosen a weapon type, the app will not do any calculation.
After you have chosen a weapon, you can do this at any time, it will calculate on every keypress. This means that you can switch between weapon types using the same values while switching weapons. Effectively this means that one person could do calculations for three different shooters with three different weapons.

LIMITATIONS

The accuracy accuracy will be effected by a couple of different factors.

1: The nonlinear formula used is derived from the range tables found in game.
2: The granularity of the clicks on the scopes ingame. Example: m107 is 0.25 moa per click.
3: Headwind and tailwind are not considered at all.
4: The values given by the player.

This is my first app, feedback is appreciated.
