ok every time i try to install the game and play it,iget a message that says the serial number is bad yet ive done it every way possible , what could be the problem?

Try sending an e-mail to BIS or codemasters with system spec etc.................see Troubleshooting FAQ for where to send your e-mail too.

My guess is that you are entering one or more characters wrong.

In my manual, there is a K in the CD Key that looks very much like an X because of the poor quality of the printing job. I'm not sure if the CD Key is supposed to be in italics, or if this is just a result of a high-speed printing job, but it is all slanted.

From Codemaster's Technical suppport page:
Problem: Whenever the CD is entered a message appears saying 'Wrong CD-Key'. The game is a genuine copy of the game.

Solution: If you have a O in the CD Key try entering it as a zero instead - or vice versa. Likewise try letters that look like a 1 as an I.
