Hello.
I have been searching but to no avail. Is there any ACE documentation that explains what the weapons associated with each vehicle do. IE how they work and what they are effective against?
I only ask because now, some T-series and other Tanks and Armor carry a myriad of munitions that are baffling as to their usage.
I didn't see any of this one the Wiki and I could look up each in Google, but I am more concerned with their pertinence to this particular Mod.

Nevermind, I fixed the problem by removing all of ACE and letting the Six updater start from scratch installing it.
There was a bug with the LAV and Bradley where the AI would not engage using the cannon.
Here's the link to where it was supposed to be fixed, but I'm still having the problem. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/9071
The LAV and Bradley AI will engage using the cannon if the enemy vehicle has zero ammo, but if the enemy has any ammo the AI will refuse to engage them using the cannon. Also the engage range is rather short when they do decide to use the cannon, seems to be about half the distance of the BTR90 cannon range.
I have tried using vanilla arma, just the ace mods, and with all my mods installed. Vanilla works fine, and with ACE I get the situation described above.
I've been around the OFP/Arma community since the beginning, but I'm new to ACE. The above mentioned bug fix appears to have been applied, but I'm not for sure. I didn't want to open a new ticket if I didn't have to.

This is actually a bug. :p
You see, that blur is cause by deafness simulating, means you are too close to something very loud. Shouldn't be there for RPK.
But I agree, it could be a cool effect when shooting weapons. But proportionally for smaller arms of course.
it would be. any advice on where to find the files that create this bug/feature?
really adds to the shooting/recoil feel.

Hi,
Been using six updater for a while now but last update 305 - 310 seems to be having issues!
Six updated as per normal - reports 310 as new version but when start Arma via launcher (as per normal) Arma reports as version 305 ?
Join game (OCB Server) and get the standard version mismatch!
Shutdown and rebooted pcm tried re-running SIX?
Bug or a file missing needs fixing ?

Well, I only added missing stuff. I'm 99% sure there is everything in now. Didn't alter the script in any other way so if you want just copy/paste it to newer version. Feel free to check, it's all same, just added few lines. :D
I was wondering how come it didn't got updated and then I remembered how buisy you are with all the other stuff. Anyways, I appreciate all the hard work you and the rest in the ACE team are putting into this mod.

@<hidden>; Who creates and updates static weapons/magazines lists when you can just use the MagicBox (scripts) ? :)
Take a look at the ACE_Demo1 Single player mission, wait a few seconds for the box to be ready, and have a looksie inside ;)

SIX-updater finished update but didn't unpack the updated versions, a second run and SIX-updater unpacked the files and update was ready.

Hey everyone,
I have just downloaded ACE2 and not to sound like a broken record, EXCELLENT mod!!
The only bug I have found is in the High Command. It seems in missions that utilize HC, it works fine for the first few minutes then it stops working. We are using team switch (MP) so we switch back and forth from commander to other units. So not sure if this has something to do with it. I have searched and found a few posts but no clear answer. If anyone has feed back, it will be appreciated! :)
CaptainBravo: Please make sure you have the latest CBA version (that is available on the Six Updater Suite).
If still problems please create a ticket with your arma2.rpt attached, (after running into the problem)

Thanks sickboy for the quick response. I have latest CBA 3.0. Is there another CBA just for ACE2? If so how to download? I have ran the updater which have updated a lot of files but left the CBA as it is. Is there another CBA for ACE?

If you downloaded CBA manually before you started using the updater, you should rename/delete the @<hidden> folder and let the updater download the newest version.

Hi,
I had CBA 3.0 already in mod folder. I did delete and ran the updater again hoping it would download the ACE CBA but nothing downloaded, with updater saying there is no update.
Any other way to download the ACE CBA?

Where would I find this mission ACE_Demo1. I dont see it in @<hidden>\store

For some reason my six updater has decided to stop working. It has worked all the way up to v293, but how isnt loading up the website to update.
It goes through all the rubbish about updating the ruby gems and then says starting web client, but then the black box closes and nothing loads up in my browser. :|

You are not running the BETA but im sure you have at some point used the BETA UNINSTALLER that is/was located in your ARMA2 root directory. It came with all beta's even the last one. However it does not work properly with the latest patch and it will mess up your game if used.
Only solution is to reinstall the whole game and apply the patches again (keep your downloaded addon folders though). Install the beta after that so you have it. Just remember to never touch the beta uninstaller. The beta folder works like an addon - you can remove it by deleting it by hand.

I found the zip file of multiplayer missions but I dont see a mission called ACE_Demo1

Didnt delete/change anything in SIX...
Just a time thing ? Who knows ....
Working now that's the main thing :-)
My serverconfig and key files are outdated, but there aren't any new ones in the Store.

My serverconfig and key files are outdated, but there aren't any new ones in the Store.
They are in @<hidden>\store\userconfig.tar.

ive searched but can not find an answer
since updating ACE i can no longer make my independant units friendly to opfor
is it possible to fix this ?

hmm...
- there are no vehicle destruction/wrecks visible after they got hit by a bomb eg GBU12 (tested with latest A2 betapatch on Utes with a group of tanks, FR FAC and different aircrafts)
- if the player's unit has a handgun (teamleader,FAC etc) he automatically switches to his pistol at mission start/preview :confused:
- afterburner dont work like they should (no acceleration/boost)
- AI gunner in SU-34: isn't able to aim and hit with Kh-29L (not with tabbing and not via action menu "2")
- Su-25: if lase (Kh-29L) is active it should inform the player which target got locked
- still you can shoot with Metis launcher or you can place a tripod (warhead will disappear then)
Suggestions:
- make some different crater variants, perhaps some bigger ones so vehicles can stay in the center
- test all of your work at least in the editor with simple scenarios - sometimes you don't see issues if you're only playing with ACE2 ;)

Just wondering if this is normal -
All the sound commands (like when i give orders) or when i receive responces from my solders are 'silent'. Ergo - i gotta read the text on the screen to see whats going on instead of listening to the voice feedback. Is this intended or am i somehwo bugged?
Also... the AI takes around 20sec to respond to my commands. Is this also intended? As in... slow down the pace of combat?

Its a setting in your user config ,if you look you can enable it but it's default is disabled hence the reason they are silent in your game :)

That folder is already empty. I used the files in an earlier release and they don't appear to have been replenished.

The info TonyGrunt gave you is correct. Theyre now in a .tar archive. @<hidden>\Store\userconfig.tar

Put out the rope box. Pick up a rope/several ropes. Get into a helicopter. When at the altitude of the rope length you have - scroll action menu and voila.

Yup, voice commands work that way, "shoot", for instance, you just have to be little "creative" :), but that is another story.
So, back to main, is this "callup" is going to work with ai in sp, or it will stay like msg.?
Updating Ace is the first thing next to morning sex.

If still problems please create a ticket with your arma2.rpt attached, (after running into the problem)

I just found the stretcher in the magic box, and figured out how to pick it up and move it around (being able to drag it on your own is a really nice touch, by the way), but I'm loss as to how you're meant to use it to carry people. Any takers?

Just drag someone who is unconscious near the stretcher and load him into the stretcher (you get an action menu entry when you are near the stretcher while dragging).
You can "unload" the unit with the interaction menu.

Also an other problem that i am having: I cant use spotting scope!
Most of the times it doesnt even show "get in spoting scope as a gunner" but even when it does I am just siting next to it. no zoom, no nthing. Its like its programmed to open the wrong eye!
I'd like to bump this one back to the top. I'm having this issue too. I can place the spotting scope, and enter it, but I can't see anything while inside of it. Here's what I am able to do:

Or whatever key you have for looking down mounted weapon sights (turrets, vehicles). Same thing.

Yeah. Had an episode where i tested RHS BMD2's and shot a AAVP up. It decreased in speed and was smoking from the back. It came to halt and 1 crew man jumped out (only survivor i guess). So i thaught yeah baby gotcha. Then the bastard jumped into the AAVP again and started to drive off LOL thinking he could get away. But it was pretty easy seeing his vehicle puffin away. A couple of shots more and he was dead too and the vehicle stopped.
It looked awesome as well seeing that smaller puffs of smoke and at the same time being hammered by 3 BMD2's and sparks everywhere.
Good stuff. Brilliant work.

No, it doesn't conflict with any other addon.
You have to enable it by dropping the Enable AI Talk module in the editor.
If you add the Enable Radio Sounds module then you will hear radio sounds sometimes.

Xeno or Sickboy, would any of you know how are handled the action for using earplug and mask ? when you pick on of these with a unit you have "selectplayer" thoses options doesn't appear if you pick the gear. Like createdunit wasn't handled by cba.

You do not have to "open" it. In the lower right, there is a box where it lists all of the items currently stored in the backpack. To get them out, simply select them in that box und click on unpack. Packing is the other way around. Select an item in your inventory and click on pack. If there is room left in the backpack, the item will be moved into it!
