What's the best sound editor?

G'day guys,

What's the best editor for editing sound (wss) files?

I'd like to increase the volume on some sounds and convert them back and forth to other formats.

Preferably a free one ;)

Try Audacity, for .wss file you would have to use external tools for conversion.
