View Full Version : Heli\'s still don\'t attract gunfire
Apparently now only the UH60-MG attracts gunfire from infantry while airborne.
If you drop an east infantry squad in an open area, then hover any west heli near them, the only one to get fired on is the UH60-MG. Not even the Cobra gets shot at anymore.

It would be good to have all enemy units firing upon helicopters with machine guns... though on armored choppers (AH-64 etc.) it would be good if BIS decreased the damage each individual round caused to the armor.. I mean, in Real life, the pilots are virtually guaranteed not to have an AK-47 round punch through the glass cockpit to hit them... they are also virtually guaranteed not to have a stray AK round stop the engines.
For the simple reasons that the AH-64 was designed to stop this happening, after the horrendous losses of the Iroqouis in Vietnam from small arms fire.
Oh yeah.. it'd also be nice to see the UH-60 MG gunner fire upon the enemy without being told to target each individual unit. It seems like they will only fire at extremely short ranges, if the helicopter is flying slowly and low.
What ever happened to supressive fire?
