Air to Air combat

I'm on the last mission, steal the hind and go chasin Guba. ok I'll be hinest, I can't fly helos for sh*t, have trouble maintaining speed and alt, but can take out the shikas one by one Ok, then I get bounced by a hind, my gunner calls it, but I can't get him to target it, I fly around trying to eyeball it but it shoots me down if I don't blunder into another shirka first, while trying to target the Hind (they don't seem to have any IFF problems) Any tips on Air to Air?

Have you looked at the ground? The Hind your gunner calls is nicely parked with no crew at all. Forget about it and take care of the Shilkas instead.

You can target him. Your gunner will say trget HIND, and that's enough. Just press left mouse button to tell your gunner to fire. Use AT6 rockets. Shot to destroy. It doens't mater if you don't see the box that showing you, where the target is and if it's ready. Just fire with AT6. It's very enyoyable when you take the enemy hind down.

Tor, Alex, so he is airborne and shooting at me? I can't get my gunner to target him by right clicking or tabing to cycle targets, and buggered if I can spot him, haven't seen him yet.

It's enough that you have it on the radar. When you'll say target HIND, just tell your gunner to fire. It will hit him, easly.

But I can't get him to target the hind, he just cycles though any other targets, the da*m thing shoots me down in 2 seconds!!!

Don't use Tab, just look at the crosshair on the radar screen, move it to the right spot, then right click on the red square. It should automatically tell your Gunner to target Hind, and then you tell him to fire.

For targeting use the right mouse button. You can see many boxes on the radar. HIND should be one in the upper corner of the radar. Now, arm AT6 and fire.

But what is this about a hind? And where? I have never met a hind on that mission..... Is it on the northern or southern road? East or west?

You have to have lucky to met him.

Hello...? The Hind is not there! It's parked on the ground with no crew, there is no Hind after you. It's parked somewhere around Hb25, it's not shooting at you at all. Take care of the Shilkas instead, that it what Kills you.

I must agree if you cant see it, its a shilka, there are lots of those about the map, you will go down in a ball of flame

And where has the crew of that godd*amn Hind really gone? There is no dicipline in the reds ranks. No wonder the USSR turned into a pile of crap..... :biggrin:

i just killed a hind in one of those missions by telling my gunner to shoot it down witht eh 30mm cannon

not in red dawn, but in the mission with the cobra attchking St Pierre, i found its hard to target the hind even looking straight at it and looking at its profile. I would keep clicking right on it and miss every time. I eventually put it manual fire and blasted it with FFAR's.

This mission is VERY simple. Okay take ( You dont need to drive&#33;&#33;&#33http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif that hind and head directly east. Get over the ocean. nothing will shoot you there. Head toward that scud. dont bother with the shilka. Just tell your pilot to fly over the area. then eject when you get to the coast. Head toward the scud and take it out (kill the driver or blow it). take the trail upwards toward the main road and wait for guba. Kill his driver and men and you win the mission.

You have to select your 30mm cannon before you can lock airtargets. Rockets are for groundtargets.
