ArmA Armed Assult: Gold Edition.

I have just bought ArmA Armed Assult: Gold Edition. By 505 Games

After some confusion, I dowloaded 3 patches. From http://www.armedassault.com/dwnl_update.html#int114

http://www.armedassault.com/dwnl_update.html#euro105 << I did not fully download this, so I could not try it. As I finally found the game version to be 1.08

Trying 1.05 and 1.08 returns the error 'arma is not installed on your computer or is corrupted'

After finally finding the game version in the readme and it says: ***** ARMA: GOLD EDITION Sprocket Version 1.08 *****

Then trying http://www.armedassault.com/dwnl_update.html#int114
I receive the same error.
Putting the patch in the ArmA install location and trying to patch that way doesn't work.

I did rename the shortcut, as described here: Adjust ArmA shortcut to include -maxmem=512

I am running Windows Vista 64Bit (Worst mistake ever!).
With the hardware specs of:
GA-X48-DS4 Motherboard
Q9550 2.83 Ghz 12MB L2 Cache CPU
4 Gb Corsair Dominator 1066 Mhz RAM
HD4850 x2 in Crossfire
Zalman Reserator XT Water Cooling
Kingwin 800 Watt Mach 1 Modular
Western Digital 500 Gb 7,200 RPM

Can someone point me in the correct direction?

You can patch the Gold version (which is 1.08) directly to 1.14final.

In order to avoid any mistakes I suggest to uninstall ArmA , restart your PC, install the game, install patch 1.14 amd you should be ready to go. If everything wokrs fine, you may want to try 1.16beta which is the latest and probably teh last patch.

Alpha, do you mind linking me to the download sites please? If you don't mind that is.

I also would like to add, that when I start ArmA, Comodo detects a Virus. Has this been mentioned before, or is it just a over protective firewall?
