Implanning on converting or will try to convert some of my Nogovan Light Infantry addons from OFP to A2, i know this may much harder as it maybe easier to start again. But i would like to know is it possible to use OFP p3d and simply re apply new Lods and will not work?
The skeleton for characters changed drastically since OFP, I don't think you'll be happy with the work you'll end up with.
Also the character's pose is different: in ofp the arms were going straight down, now the arms are going sideways.
Also, you need a lot of linear deformation stuff (don't ask me what that is), and I guess you'll never get that right for a custom model that wasn't based on the current skeleton.
I guess you're better of with taking the sample model that was released recently and change it according to your needs.

Every selection will be different too, as the OFP model selections were originally named in Czech, where as ArmA and ArmA2 were and still are named in English - Thats obstacle 1. Numerous other obstacles were posted by TeRp above, so with all that taken into account, I'd highly recommend starting from scratch.
You could try starting with the A2 sample models (http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1413200&postcount=2) BIS just gave us or use A1 sample models (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST&f=61&t=67070) BIS gave us much earlier. Both work just fine in ARMA2 if you copy the correct lods (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=84536).
I would recommend using the sample US soldier model from A1, retexture it, give it new materials and finally copy the special lods from A2 sample model to make it work. I remember Nogova soldiers were pretty similar to US soldiers so that's why A1 sample model would be the best choice :).
