New Multicam ACU for ArmA2

A few day ago found some interesting webside about New Multicam ACU for US soldiers.

I like the new lighter Multicam tan and would be very pleased if some one could change this to ArmA2 or could tell me how to change the original multicam textures to newer one. I think Photoshop will be the right Program for this.

I would be very pleased for answers and ideas.

May be... someone could make some of this SF Soldiers for ArmA2??

The ingame US Marines do not have multicam, they have MARPAT, some have some Woodland camo too, so its not as simple as changing the existing ingame textures to simply make them lighter, as they are completely different patterns.

ACU is something else, again completely different, used by US Army.

actualy ACU just stands for Army Combat Uniform, not the actual patern itself, ppl just relate ACU to the patern

so saying multicam ACU does actualy make sense.

There are multicam patterns in the BlackOp addon pack thats available in the complete addons forum. They are fairly accurate.

Multicam is not worn officially by any US units, however it is allowed for complete units to purchase the gear and use it as far as I know. It was in the race for the new camo pattern, but lost to the current one.

If it is being used officially, then I'd kill for some sort of documentation :)

Also, please do note that the pictures that you've attached are protected by copyright, and as such unless you are the owner (i.e. the chap behind militarymoron.com) you are not allowed to put them up. Sorry for being such a drag, I've just spent years enjoying his website and reviews and would hate for it to get abused :)

i guess youre right. My main point was to say that its not merely a simple colour tweak though!

ACU(pat) is the combat uniform designated for the UCP (universal camouflage pattern). So you can't really call it multicam ACU as its not the official camo for the US army. Same goes for BDU and DCU as they were named for certain camouflages.

usually special operation forces wear them because they are usually allowed to wear what suits or comforts them the most. I don't have official documentation though, but i believe for the airforce special operations command (para rescuemen jumpers in particular) seem to use multicam alot.

multicam was a runner for the army as stated,but its quite alot more expensive so they decided not to go with it. IMHO i have seen multicam in use and have to say i was pretty impressed.This coming from an airsofter of course but i can tell what works and what doesn't.I would put the armys ACU in the latter.

on-topic: Multicam may not work, i'm afraid, it will have to have equal percentages of each kind of camo implemented, and that STILL will make the user rather visible.

people seem to expect ACU to work in wat ever conditions, this just isnt the case, and isnt the case for ANY camo. ACU does infact work REALLY WELL! at a distnace that is. no matter wat environment your in, if u have ACU u will be very hard to spot at greater than 250-300m which is close to an average engagment.

Just to add to the discussion. the "Army Times" had an article several weeks back that discussed the ineffectiveness of the ACU pattern, particularly in Afghanistan. Apparently, the US Army is looking to possibly field the Multi-Cam or another pattern to units in or deploying to Afghanistan. the article sounded like the Army was favoring the Multi-Cam pattern.
