D3 WeaponFX v1.1
Description:
This soundmod will replace all the personel weapons ingame. This excludes silenced weapons. It is designed to work with Vopsound, although it will run fine without.

- Reworked AK, m136, m14, M24 sounds
- Adjusted volume of some sounds
- M203 sound fixed
Known Issues:
If you are running without Vopsound you will receive a message on startup saying that it is required. Although it will run fine without.

Nice launchers' sounds. Is it possible somehow to only use that and have stock sounds for other weapons?

Use kegety's cpbo to unpck the config PBO, edit the config.cpp with notepad. Just remove/erase the brackets and the stuff inbetween them for all the other weapon classes, but the launchers.
Then create the pbo again. ;)

the M136 sounds really whimpy...
should be a really loud BANG when fired..
just search Youtube for Videos and compare your sound..
think the same for the SMAW
not sure there though since i´ve never been around one IRL.
M136 i have personal experience from though (or actually not a M136 wich is the US license made version of the swedish AT4 wich is the one i have experience from)

I think it has a lot of potential, though some sounds just flat out hurt my ears--even from the video alone. Not hurting my ears as in horrible sounds, just a weeeeeee bit too "sharp" for lack of a better term for my ear drums. Then again, I always did want to go deaf in the middle of a great firefight on arma. :p lol.
But yeah, man, I think it's got a lot of potential for sure. Hope you continue developing and expanding in the future. :)
[edit] +1 on what Shadow said concerning some of the launchers. I had forgotten all about it. ;)

Will work on the launchers for the next version and tweak some of the other weapon sounds too. I should be adding vehicle weapon sounds too.
Better than vanilla sounds but I prefer VopSound.

the M136 still sounds terrible...
needs to be a MUCH harder and louder BANG
and remove that damn rocket sound!
M136 DOES NOT!!! fire a rocket!
it´s a grenade where about half the propellant goes out the back of the weapon to reduce recoil and the other half launches the GRENADE (wich is fin stabilized).
it does NOT have any kind of "swoooosh" sound anywhere or anytime!

Some reason i find the tanks main gun too whimpy in all sound mods/ARMA2 stock. Dont know what it is. Like its not possible to get the good old ArmA zwaBANG power. There is no wrong in the sounds itself - they are great, but the volume/power/zwaBANG seems more timid than in ArmA so far.
Will see what the updated one does in-game though before i talk too much bollox. :)

try to raise the volume of all weapons.
especially the tanks and launchers.
the sound of the M136 itself is good but the volume is too low.

I have an E8500 @<hidden> 4GHz, 4GB DDR2, Geforce 8800GTX... Is that really crap? Because te game is almost unplayable with just a little high GFX settings... :(

The next release will cover all vehicle sounds, silenced weapons and handguns. Along with that I will be tweaking some of the existing sounds. Hopefully it will be ready early in the weekend. :)

Not bad. As a general rule of the thumb, the wider the caliber, the more bass and volume the sound effect should have.
At distance, an M16 sounds like a BB gun compared to an M240 (we actually had M60's, same caliber), and likewise an M240 to an M2 .50 BMG. It becomes a regular symphony and there is no mistaking when your hand has been trumped by a louder horn. (Apologies for the mixed metaphor.)
In the "jungle" of (albeit, simulated) warfare, the M16/AK74 is a bobcat, the M240/PK a tiger, and the M2/Dishka a lion. When the lion roars, there's no mistaking it. That's when the guys with the BB guns become suppressed and make the neutralization of the elephant gun a priority. The A.I. should be thinking that way, too, I might add, as that is the way the OPFOR responded to our M2 .50's.
That's been my experience, anyway.
