We're seeing a lot of infantry stuff here on a small scale, but c'mon people...this game is FRICKIN' HUUUUGE!

Stop thinking BF2 Project Reality Mod or god forgive, Counterstrike...

This is the old Firefight by SPI set to the computers of 2009.

With all the nit picking everyone is missing the point; Arma II is Steel Beasts Pro PE with fully 3d humans, not sprites.

I'm working on mastering High Command in the Editor

Ctrl + Space Bar = the toggle to go back and forth from being the commander of the individual LAV I'm using to chauffeur the colonel around in (me) and the High Command Bar with the platoons the colonel is commanding. Now this is fun...

Gimmie a day or two, I've got to look up the command structure of a big armour unit...company size and above...right now I'm running 3 tank platoons and 3 mechanized infantry platoons around the map of the entire country. You can sit in your command vehicle (3rd person) just commanding through the map, even your own LAV driver and carefully move around teh battlefield running a big show and trying to stay alive. There's a big battle coming and you are going to be the Colonel in charge of running a huge armoured fighting force, maybe even a battallion. I'd eventually like to throw in supply trucks once I figure out how they work in the game..

I'll be happy to take any advice and info those more knowlegeable will be willing to give.

It'd be cool to dispatch those trucks to forward forces and try to keep them in supply despite enemy harassment. I foresee a long running campaign through the treacherous countryside with lots of evil little RPG equipped insurgents and maybe if your force gets worn down enough, OPFOR will make a big rush near the end to try to finish you off..

Stand by...

Sounds good sort of like RTS and FPS at the same time. But It sounds like it has great capabilities if done properly. So is this something your making into a coop or PvP? Your decision will determine its popularity.

Right now I'm just totally new to the world of OFP/ARMA/ArmA2...so I'm thinking initially it will be a single player mission. But that can be quickly changed by dividing the battallion into companies commanded by humans for a coop.

Anything new? I was initially interested but this somehow slipped past me.
