Hi everyone. I'm new here and this is my first post. I am coming to Arma after a decade of Novalogic/Novaworld gaming. I'm very much looking forward to getting ARMA II after becoming very displeased with the new Novalogic release, Delta Force Xtreme 2. So, it is a pleasure to meet you all.

I have a few questions about ARMA II multiplayer and some other things that maybe you guys can answer for me. I will put them all in one lump post to save everybody's time, and IMO, the multiplayer questions that I have are the most important to me.

1. How big is the ARMA II following estimated to be? (How many people will play it online?)

2. Are there a lot of Peer versus Peer servers? (will there be a lot? were there a lot in Arma 1?)

3. I'm not all that smart when it comes to computer specs, will this system be able to run ARMA II smoothly in multiplayer? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152073

4. Are there any stat programs supporting ARMA II? (Babstats for dedicated servers, etc.)

5. I never used Xfire, does it record stats? Because I know Xfire supports ARMA 1 and most likely ARMA II.

6. From my experience with Novalogic, there have always been MAJOR problems with hacks. How will the support be? patch after patch to keep the cheats out? ;)

That's all for now. Again, nice to meet you everyone. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!!

Hi there and welcome to the forums. :)

1. Arma2 is looking to be a fairly popular release, but no one can really say yet how many people will actually stick with it. People expecting a BF2 clone will be disappointed, as can already be seen in some user reviews. Also the initial bugs are off-putting to some. So far there seems to be a fair amount of nicely populated servers.

2. Since Warfare was introduced, the number of PvP servers has been increasing. Coops like Evolution are still very popular though. If you're talking about team deathmatch or CTF, those are still comparatively rare.

3. It will most likely run it, but you should expect to play the game on low settings.

4. No idea.

5. Again, no idea. Arma2 isn't really about "stats" though. There is no global ranking system or anything like that.

6. Since the international release it looks like griefers are on the rise, but that will die down soon enough. I'd generally recommend finding a closed community to play with. Public servers generally aren't much fun, unless they're well administrated.
