Ok. I reckon we could put together a pretty good campaighn based on the movie 'Red Dawn.'
Russian parachutists land whilst we're on our way to college.
Weaponless, we have to make our escape in the back of a car and head towards the mountainous hills - avoiding the invading tanks..
We incorporate soundbites from the film if poss.
Next missions are raids on Russian convoys etc. "WOLVERINES!"
Imagine a sniper mission to stop a Russian massacre of villagers lined up against a wall - just like the movie...
I reckon this could be great, especially as all the guerrillas are teenagers...

All we need are North American looking houses though, which are way different than the ones in eastern euro suburbs.

Dude, this editor is massive. A good campaign designer can make truly awesome missions, multiple outcomes, meaningful choices. Since I basically skipped ARMA, was there ever any good campaigns made for it other than dev ones? When I say good, I mean immersive and made you feel like your decisions meant something or advanced a story.

Well, I'm a professional writer for an advertising agency with a few screenplays under my belt, so I'm prepared to write for this if someone wants to code the thing.

Such a campaign would be at the top of my list. Red Dawn is one of my favorite movies. :) Best of luck with the project!
(I shudder to think what the RD remake will be like. :icon_rolleyes:)

Jed Eckert: [in the mountains] "Matt and I have been coming up to these mountains with our dad our whole lives. We can hunt, we can fish, we can stay up here a long, long time."
Robert: How long, Jed?
[fighters and bombers pass overhead]
Jed Eckert: "Until we don't hear *that* no more. "
Man, it's a great film.

Don't judge a movie by its trailer...especially an '80s trailer. :) Trust us: rent it. You won't be disappointed.

Was it meant to be that serious of a film? I'm pretty sure it was just the director criticizing gun control laws and hating Communists, but then it's been a long while since I've seen the film.
Still thought it was a good film though, and if someone managed to make a camapign based on it I would download in an instant, it could even still work in Chernarus, in fact it would make more sense in a modern setting if it took place in Chernarus.

The basic idea is that a bunch of schoolkids manage to escape a Russian / Cuban invasion of the US and hide out in the mountains - coming down only to ambush Russian convoys and rescue 're-education camp' hostages.
It's actually very, very good fun and well worth the download / rent.
I think with some good audio samples the basic film wouldn't be TOO hard to code.

I've made CO16 Wolverines mission based on this movie for A1... but its pretty long, multiple objectives. First goal is of course to escape, then to meet up with the resistance and fight back ;)

Will you be converting it over to A2?

Maybe, but I'm staying with my team in A1 until BIS releases at least two more patches :)
