Great i miss them so much, thx alot!
Personally, I think you should remove the RACS version, or atleast remove the flag from the skin and make it a desert version instead, since there's no RACS faction and I think there's no reason to recreate RACS in A2.
But thank you for releasing littlebirds for A2, I was starting to miss them a little even though I don't even have the game yet :)

RACS will be back as soon as the complete ArmA content including Sahrani have been ported to ArmA II so there is need for the RACS faction.

*cough* Kiowa is in the works :)
The kiowa is suffering a few CFG problems at the moment, I also have a great camo skin for it which fits in very nicely with the Arma2 landmass.

When you plan to add some textures for these, the 1.1 LB's supports the setObjectTexture command like all other A2 BI-vehicles to add mission based retexes :bounce3:
Actually, the RACS version is such a retex version without it's own .p3d file :)

He included the ArmA_samplemodels ReadMe and credited BIS in the ReadMe. I thought the little bird was part of that package BIS released to the community. I guess I never looked though.

They released a sample package and then the mlods of all of their models without textures with an agreement stating that the models and any derivative works are for community use in ArmA and its sequels and expansions only, IIRC.

Just a suggestion : Can you give the AH6 (black version or w/e) a Hud for hydra's and the miniguns? atm its impossible to make a attack run on a light convoy without alot of guess work or wasting munitions.
Also how can one go about editing the amount of ammunition the little bird's have? The config.cpp doesnt have ammunition lines, just magazine >.<

Yes, that value refers to the magazine which is defined elsewhere. Find where it is defined and you can then mod it.

New to this Arma stuff, run a online game but we don't and won't use "MODS", so there is no way ever to have any non default vehicles unless in MOD mode? :/
Er... is this a trick question? Non-default vehicles are by definition 'mods'.

Hmm im not sure how to install this,i dont have a folder called "root" to install it as per the instructions,or is this file the one titled "add ons" that has all the animals,buildings etc listed in it?im pretty new to all this stuff so apologies for being a bit dumb :rolleyes:

ArmA root directory just refers to the folder located at something like c:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA. It's whereever the arma.exe is located. During the install progress you could have pointed the game to install anywhere, for instance x:\superhappyfuntime. Saying ArmA root just cuts to the chase. Whereever you have ArmA installed- the folder that contains the AddOns, dta, campaigns, etc folders- you want to unzip the archive into that folder. This will give you some new directories... something like ...ArmA\@<hidden>\AddOns.

what's the trick? Mod mode means we must run with -mod=@<hidden> or whatever, and becomes a requirement for players, whereas I thought we could just include it in our mission and it would work thus not requiring to be a MOD..
Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not wish to enforce the public to go find a download to play on the server.. so therefore I am jus absolutely shocked they didnt include this in the game.. I actually am so dissapointed i want my money back even though i will get $5000 worth of play.. I just sit here and shake my head they did this stupid Marines thing, leaving it complettely out
Also goes for the M113 as well :/

I just installed this mod into both my server and on my machine as well and when I try to join my sever I get this messege:
Files "@<hidden>\addons\cyborg11_west_lb.pbo", "@<hidden>\addons\factions.pbo", "@<hidden>\addons\littlebirds_config.pbo" are not signed by a key accepted by this server. To play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys.
Any help would be appreciated.

at the moment your server is running 'verifysign 1' it will force BIS standard game only.
Change that to verifysign 0 to allow use of this addon and other, but it won't restrict addons that are amended/or unsigned.

Man nice, but like the Chinook mod, this one two has that weird glass damage when given one shot with a gun.
Also you can only get in on one side it seems, for the rest, nice very nice indeed, working dails FTW, and viewable joystick as well :).
The F16 mod misses the Joystick and working dails.

I'm new to running a server so please bear with the nub questions ;).
Are the Little Birds available in all game types and missions? Just checking cause I have everything installed and target line changed in my desktop icon as necessary and no birds present in domination mission type.

For the little birds to 'show up' in a mission the original mission maker has to use the addons.
Else the littlebirds will sit in the mod folder and never be used.
Take for example domination, if after clearing the side mission, you would normally get a hummv, the mission maker has to change the hummv for a littlebird.
Thats the only way the littlebirds will appear in missions, give it more time and they will be used by more mission makers

I would love to use your port in a couple of missions, but you need to TAG your work first so it is compatible with other mods. Please tag you addon, classes and so on. It is important.
Go to ofpec and register a tag, if you havent done it already, and update this addon please :)

There is two ways to fix this:
1) Cyborg112 uses the OAC tree
2) You create a replacement addon based on the OAC class tree and the unit values of Cyborg112 .

Something definitely changed with the sounds, the internal sound is now waaay to quiet, I tried it twice once with all my mods loaded and again with only littlebirds and CBA loaded, it was the same in both

Doh! Wheres William the replacement king when you need him! I was building a mission in Sahrani with these and they actually worked for some reason but when the update came I tried to place the new ones in but had nothing in the editor and the old ones no longer worked either :(
Edit -Actually they worked because I merged a Chernarus mission with Sahrani, hmmm, maybe it'll work again...

Great Mod and thx for the work!!
Unfortunately i have a little problem here.
I have added the little bird in our "modded" Evolution Map. Its all running great when i host the map with my machine.
But when i try to run the map on a dedicated server it wont start. The problem is that my friend can acces the server only via ftp. So it is not possible to look at the command server window. But the Problem is definitely the little bird because when i remove it from the mission, the map is loading. (There are also other mods working like Chinook or F16)
Can someone confirm this?
Edit: It seems, that arma2 can not load more than 3 mods if you put the addons in the standard mod folder :(

Even with update I am still getting the UH1 showing up whe trying to place a MH6 in the editor and yes I did use the folder that was inside the CAA1LittleBirds folder shows as MH6 in list but appears as UH1 in preview

Only activate one config. Or you will have problems.
Like I wrote in the Readme choose only one @<hidden> folder ;)
If you are using CAA1, then only use the CAA1 config.
If you don't use CAA1, then use the normal config.

also it might be worth mentioning that the vehicles class names have changed to be just MH6 and AH6 rather than the longer version before with the tag etc. This means mission files that used the old birds need to be edited to have the new class names otherwise they cant find the addon when loading. :)
Don't seem to have cross hairs for rockets am I doing something wrong? Any chance of making the US Army AH6 black as they don't use a green one in real life? Any plans for the latest version MELB A/MH-6M with six bladed main rotor and four bladed tail rotor plus upgraded avionics, FLIR and other weapons options or is there and unlocked version of these that I could have a go at modifying . Love the little birds and am fortunate enough to fly the civilian versions (MD500) for real.

You have a crosshair for the rockets. But it's only a little small green point ;)
I don't have plans for a next update on the Little Birds. I think they are final. It was only a port :)

On the AH-6 I had a pilot moveinDriver and tried getting another one in the 2nd spot. I tried moveincargo, driver, commander, and gunner but couldn't get any of them to work. Am I missing something? This was on the standalone version.
EDIT Nevermind the seat got filled. I was seeing another squad member and thinking it was the extra pilot.

Loving the LittleBirds. Any chance we can get the flare launchers added?
Tried using the addWeapon method, but what I found is that the flare script is expecting the vehicle to have some named selections for the flare launcher which apparently don't exist for the LB's.

If we'll get the MLODs I can do that. Don't know which parts must be named right in the model.
So ... if you want flares you should use MMA, ACE 2 or RKSL :)
