According to the in-game command completion/help function, setVariable has a 3rd parameter called "public", it is a boolean.
Anyone tested this out yet?
If this is a combination of setVariable and publicVariable, that would be awesome. Would save a lot of extra work.

Just did a quick test. It seems that it is indeed a public setting, when a change occurs on another client, it automatically publicVariable's the change. So, setting the public flag to true will update the variable globally. Some more tests (or some developer's feedback) are in order.
